So grateful to Rush for filling this niche. Kids love reading and adventure, but most kids balk about reading boring text book history. I did anyway.

I remember my school library had the “I was there” or “we were there” books. I don’t know how accurate they were, but I couldn’t get enough. I’m sure Rush’s books are accurate and fun reading, and I’ll be buying them all for my home library.

A great big THANK YOU to Rush!

The best part about the award is that it was a vote from the kids themselves. He was automatically “nominated” based on the book’s appearance on bestseller lists.

So every single human being in this country taking 8 or more tablets of Vicodin a day is at risk of hearing loss. That’s what you’re saying Google told you. Lol.

You just reinforced my feeling that I am glad you are not my pharmacist.

Google didn't tell me so. The sites (including the website of the place where Rush has his implants done) Google directed me to told me so. Did you bother to even to read? Rush's hearing loss was a big story at the time and its origin was thoroughly discussed.

Where were you? Getting your mail order pharmacy degree?

Stop scaring people.

I do not know the medical origin of Rush’s hearing loss. If I had to guess it was an auto-immune thing, but it’s non of my business.

What is my business is people like you implying that either hydrocodone or acetaminophen causes hearing loss. Why would either drug be on the market if that were even remotely true? Where are all the lawsuits? Why hasn’t Rush filed one? Please, Doctor, tell me the mechanism of action by which Vicodin causes hearing loss in ONLY Mr. Rush Limbaugh, but not the millions of other Americans who take it every single day.

You still haven't read anything about this, have you? Seems the connection is there and documented in people who have ABUSED Vicodin. Put your arrogance aside and read.

So now you’re not so sure, right? “It seems the connection is there...”

If you hate Rush for whatever reason, that’s your right. But you have no right to misinform and scare people about things you do not know.

Where did I say I hate Rush? Are you on something?

But you have no right to misinform and scare people about things you do not know.

You still haven't read about the connection have you? Denial of the connection is "misinforming" people.

Rush was inhaling dozens of oxycodone and hydrocodone per day. Rapid, total, bilateral hearing loss during & after his rehab stint. Opioids are not ototoxic, particularly in the extreme dosages he was taking?

An old hypothesis from five years ago that no one has bothered to study any further is really not something to get all excited about. But you couldn’t wait to rain all over Rush’s parade by bringing up “The Drugs.” There was no need for that.

Congratulations, Rush!

Seems millions of children, schools, teacher, and parents love his children’s books. Although that has often turned his shown into an infomercial for them, I am happy to see the success with such a topic as American History.

Thank you for the info. I do remember hearing about oxycodone following a back injury, I think, which then unfortunately spiraled into dependence and drug seeking behavior. It happens all the time, to many intelligent and good people.

I didn't bring drugs up! I entered this thread by responding to your ridiculous comment to another poster who had brought up Rush's admitted drug abuse. See your post #124)

I ask again, what are you on?

The difference is that Rush is a public figure who espouses strong opinions on moral and social issues (on which I agree). He must be held to a higher standard than private citizens. Yes, he has feet of clay like all humans, but he covers up his transgressions, rather than admitting them and asking for forgiveness.
