The problem with the pledge recently crafted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), which asks lawmakers to vow not to support immigration reform that would include amnesty, is that it's not an issue that all Republicans can get behind, says Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform.
In 1986, Americans for Tax Reform put together a pledge for lawmakers to sign promising to "vote against and oppose all efforts to raise taxes."

Any politician that supports amnesty is dead to me. This is a Rule of Law, quality of life, fair labor, and national sovereignty issue all rolled into one. It is simply not up for debate and it's time Republicans simply reject this premise.

Norquist should be running a kebab shop somewhere in Yemen, not offering advice to conservative Americans. In addition to the idiocy already mentioned, apparently he would like to make Puerto Rico a state (yeah, let’s give the ‘Rats two more safe Senate seats and who knows how many in the House). What a steaming turd he has turned out to be.
He’s got money behind him, who knows what country of origin it has; and he has the undivided support of CINOs, LINOs, TPINOs, and even some FINOS.
