Fox News contributor Brit Hume lashed out at former Congresswoman Jane Harman (D., Calif.) on Fox News Sunday after she delivered an arrogant and dismissive lecture on the Benghazi talking points.
Harman equated the Benghazi talking points to other absurd conspiracy theories, prompting a large eye roll from Hume.
“Youre right, there wasnt a conspiracy in the United States to mount the Benghazi attack,” Hume said. ”Thats not the question. The question was whether in the aftermath of the attack, when the administration sent its U.N. ambassador out to explain it to everybody, and she did so falsely, that there wasnt a conspiracy to create the false talking points that she used. Im not talking about the CIA talking points, Im talking about the talking points used on that program that day, which were monumentally misleading, that since have been shown to be false, and based on no intelligence of any consequence that we know of.”
Hume pressed Harman to name a single person in the administration who credibly believed that the Benghazi attack was connected to an anti-Islam video. Predictably, she could not do so.
“Ben Rhodes talks about the video five times in this memo, five times,” host Chris Wallace interjected.
A clearly flustered Harman deflected, vaguely asserting “my view on this, having been around at the time, was that this was not deliberately misleading. It turned out to be wrong, but it was not deliberate.”
So, not a gang of liars then, just easily duped and misled? Glad we got that straightened out.
Another reason California flailing around trying to convince itself that it has a future.
So here’s what we can expect from all Democrats running for office in the future:
1) no competence in the most severe geopolitical crises
2) no competence down to the simplest of domestic problems
2) no responsibility for anything
3) no accountability for anything
That witch has a seriously distorted face. One too many surgeries?
Agree...
“my view on this, having been around at the time, was that this was not deliberately misleading. It turned out to be wrong, but it was not deliberate.”
Harmon says... they were not devious... they were stupid and incompetent therefore, as Democrats they should not be held accountable for what they say.
t-minus 3 months til Hume audit
Is there one person with integrity in the entire Democrat party willing to accept the truth and own it?
Sort of Joan Rivers without the laughs.
Cue sound of crickets chirping
Not quite. The story they put out was a complete fabgrication with no basis in any fact offered then or since. We are being told even though it was known to be false it was not misleading. That leaves an attempt to explain the situation based on what they wished to be true.
It’s nothing new, they’ve been that way for a long time.
It explains why they have such a dysfunctional constituency.
Who in their right minds would ever vote for such irresponsible and deceitful morons?
Difficult question. Where is the list of possible answers?
This administration is pulling out all the stops. Only they are not putting forth actively employed government employees to defend them.
The reason for this is that a government employee that lies, even to the public can be prosecuted. It is why you are seeing all these “former this and that’s...”.
Yes, and I’m expecting the upcoming treatment of Trey Gowdy by Dems and the media (ah, but I repeat myself) will make Ken Starr’s experience seem like a walk in the park.
No journalists, and I mean NO journalists, ever follow through and simply say........well then it means they are incompetent. Which is worse? A real journalist would say something like that.
