How can an execution be botched if the criminal dies?
I’m puzzled by this entire discussion.
It seems to me that large animals (horses, etc.) are calmly put down every day - without any problems as far as I’ve heard.
It seems to me that we’re creating a very complex process out of something that is rather commonplace & simple.
Am I missing something?
Well, it wasn’t “botched”...
At least not as bad as Thomas Edison’s infamous DC electrocution, where, I believe, the persons head started smoking while they were still quite alive...

Right! A killer dies and there is a scream from the huggers. Upside down society, he died and so what. He got executed and it might have been botched but what did the killer do to get there?
Use the same drug used to kill dogs at the pound. My sister had to put her dog down due to an injury. She said her dog died immediately.
Personally I say can just burn the sob’s. Kill all of them where the proof is absolute.
