still not one major outlet story (including fnc) about magic Johnson wanting to buy this team and he is the one in the picture.

The NBA is deceased.

I can see TMZ, who leaked this recording, being sued - as in CA, is a ‘both party’ state.

The recoding was made illegally and when the broadcaster put it out, became party to the crime.

Remember about all the howling over the recording by Linda Tripp of Clinton’s little [s]girl[/s] sex toy committing perjury? Ya, double standard indeed.

I wish we would learn more about this.

Yes, the comments were bad and all that.

But did he know he was being recorded?
Is this girl basically a whore?
Were the tapes and release publicly part of extortion or blackmail?
Why is the girl being sued by Sterling’s wife?

There is a big untold story. Commissioner comes in, after only 3 days to hash through a complicated situation, and gives Sterling the equivalent of the death penalty. Was he hasty in his decision? Did he really investiage everything, including the background of this girl?

Any other bombs going to drop in this story???

I won’t defend or even agree with any of Sterling’s comments, but this level of punishment goes too far. You’d think the guy murdered people.

As far as I am concerned, the NBA is DEAD. If this Commish’s decision stands, I will never watch another NBA game. This whole controversy is BS.

I’m hoping Sterling will tarnish Silver.

(Yes...I know Sterling isn’t a nice guy.)

Silver may find out that an 80 year old billionaire with a bad attitude is not an easy mark to try for your first corporate kill. He obviously doesn’t give a sh!t about what anyone thinks of him, being out in public with his ho’s all the time. He probably doesn’t really care about the money.

So, if I was Silver, I’d take a step back and look around before jumping in bed with Magic Johnson.

“Regardless of your background, regardless of the history they have, if we’re taking something somebody said in their home and we’re trying to turn it into something that leads to you being forced to divest property in any way, shape or form, that’s not the United States of America,” Cuban said. “I don’t want to be part of that...”

Once affirmative action with racial quotas was allowed to stand, it was all over - it is legally and morally indefensible, and completely “un-American”. This is just a pont frther down the slope.

Don’t see how Silver can keep Sterling’s wife away from the team or make her sell her interest.

"I don't want to be part of that." ...

It seems like Cuban understands that there is a bigger issue.

Time for white folks to boycott the NBA. I can’t do that - haven’t watched an NBA game since Larry Bird was playing.

A day earlier, however, Cuban — while criticizing Sterling's comments as "obviously bigoted, obviously racist" — called it "damn scary" that a precedent could be set.

It's an Inquisition, not just by analogy, but in its character. One is judged and condemned according to the perception of ones personal beliefs. All evidence is only for the information of the Inquisitors, and their determination is absolute and final.

NBA Commish Silver immediately brought up the memory of an old black and white movie!

It was an early vampire movie and the vampire was Neferatu (I think that was the name). They look very similar.

Not trying to hijack this thread. ...I do find the whole thing about Sterling, the Clippers, the racists and the NBA to be waaaay over the top and the news media is riding the wave.

Sterling’s personal beliefs may be abhorrent to many people, but I believe he’s being ‘crucified’ because of the obnoxious politically correct attitude that permeates our schools, politics and media today.

A silly, stupid,(perhaps even lonely, but really a jerk,)old fool. Was being serviced by a young female gold digger who was in turn being was being serviced by much youger black bucks at his expence which she paraded in front of him. Just to piss him off. Somehow after speaking with her lawyer sets up a situation where the dotting dupe seeing what little loyalty to him he expected from her being destroyed. Vents his frustration over a taped phone conversation that suddenly gets made public.
