Everything he said, he said in private, presumably in the privacy of his own home or the equivilent.

It’s whack Whitey, crush the Cracker & hit the Honkey time! They will attempt to get the rest of us eventually.

And the whore breaks the law, walks away and hits the $cumbag lotto.

Did Magic Johnson conspire with the whore to set Sterling up? He wants the team and is friends with the whore.

It is a business and still subject to discrimination laws.

Not quite standing, he's been laying on his back for nearly 4 years ;)

It would be really easy for me. Locally, there is no professional basketball. Thank goodness. We have enough pro sports teams with overpaid, underworked players.

IIRC, Rush was given a lifetime ban from owning an NFL team. He was trying to purchase the St. Louis Rams.

Rush has posited a theory that this is all part of a scheme to get Magic Johnson the Clipper franchise.

Democrat.

he has donated to some Democrats, but, according to the LA County Registrar of Voters, he is a registered Republican.

Slippery Slope - NBA should not go there.

I'll be curious to see double standards applied by the NBA in the future to protect their sacred cows. And you KNOW they have them.

Someone called into Rush today and said that Sterling was set up to fail. Watch to see who ends up with the team at bargain basement prices.

After this episode, the term Sterling Silver has lost some of its classy cachet.

I certainly haven’t read the contracts but “conduct detrimental to the League” will be in there and Courts will give a corporation pretty much free reign on that one ... as they should.

Again, it’s a business not a government.

As I said in #57, you better believe he did. We’ll probably never know the specifics, but with the NBA having a rev share, and the boycotts affecting the LA Clippers, don’t you think his actions have hurt the other owners? If his contract with the NBA didn’t cover something like that, well, then the NBA needs new lawyers.

That wouldn’t work. The league would come in and take over, make the payments, etc., and his $900 million property would become worthless. That would give them an excuse to just take it.

He should simply shut down the team, completely. No contract buyouts, no nothing.

The players are still there. The NBA probably owns the name of the team and its logos. All they have to do is reconstitute it and sell it to someone new. Your proposal would keep Sterling from getting any money for the team but would otherwise do nothing.
