You seem to confuse bandoliers with machine gun belts. Not the same thing.

See my retraction far above, and note that looking at Google images, you go a couple dozen “bandolier” images before you come across any with pouches as opposed to exposed ammo.

Incidentally, My Google image search found no Rambo images (of Stallone) with any kind of bandolier, and a few showing fake images with ammo belts. But its not PC to say the shooter looked like Pancho Villa.
