After Bundy's overtly racist remarks, let's see how far politicians run away from him.
The New York Times has overheard Cliven Bundythe Nevada rancher who, instead of paying decades of overdue grazing fees, met the Bureau of Land management with guns and a small militiasaying this:
"I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro," he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, "and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch they didn't have nothing to do. They didn't have nothing for their kids to do. They didn't have nothing for their young girls to do.
"And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?" he asked. "They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I've often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn't get no more freedom. They got less freedom."
Expect every politician to back away from the issue.
"His remarks on race are offensive and I wholeheartedly disagree with him," Sen. Rand Paul said in a statement Thursday morning.

I saw the video and although I couldn’t make out the question he was asked, agree he said it.
I agree with you and it doesn’t change my opinion with regards to the larger struggle, against the USG.
I posted earlier that the “pick cotton” reference was probably a euphimism for work, a poorly chosen one, but one nonetheless.
A man who views the world through a very black and white lens, not like the PC world the left has created has essentially fallen into a trap.
Still doesn’t change my opinion that he is going to be maligned and pilloried in order to reduce or eliminate support for him so that the USG can now come in unabated and finish him off.
This is similar to the way the media cornered George Zimmerman...
Look how well that worked...Legally Zimmerman got off lightly...In the court of public opinion, he would be killed the second anyone figured out who he is, anywhere in this country...He would be lucky to just be the victim of the “knockout game”...
Zimmerman (and now Bundy and any followers) would be murdered, and the killer(s) would be hailed as deliverers of justice...Hailed by the media, and the low information voters all across this country...
No one of any (non) color would be fair and open game at that point...
But hey, [shrugs] what do I know...
We are all picking cotton for the government now.
Unfortunately, there is a video of Cliven saying just that.....
No one of any (non) color would “NOT” be ignored as” fair and open game at that point...
[had to fix that sentence...Muh bad...]
Do not understand how you can call him a bigot!!! What he said was the
ABSOLUTE TRUTH!!!! Nothing bigoted about it!!!
You too, friend.
Personally, I’d LOVE to see a good old fashioned Irish beat down going on between a couple of congresscritters.
Now, THAT’S Entertainment!
Yes I think that’s what Mr. Bundy meant but as we all know the Libtards are going to spin it as racist.
“..that he is going to be maligned and pilloried in order to reduce or eliminate support for him so that the USG can now come in unabated and finish him off...”
Spot-on, brother. They needed a way to demonize him.
Holding or expressing political views that most people despise in no way changes a man’s rights under the Constitution. If the Federal attempt to seize Bundy’s land was wrong in principle before it was known he was racist, it remains wrong after his views are revealed. His political views aren’t the issue here - his rights as a landowner (or a land leaser) are.
Indeed. This is nothing but irrelevant ad hominem, because Bundy's political views are not the issue here, and they in no way influence his rights to use BLM land. Sure, his statements are bad for PR, but if GOP politicians who took his side start backing away from him, it will only prove that PR matters more to them than Constitutional Rights, which aren't supposed to end when you say something unpleasant or controversial.
That may be true, but when will conservatives stop their foot-in-mouth disease. Conservatives have to assume that, unless they know somebody well enough, that they cannot be absolutely honest about some things.
bump to mark
I’ll bring the popcorn.
That’s cool. We’ll just post the times its in there on FB and let the minorities decides for themselves what he means
Conservatives are going to have to wake up and smell the nasty stench coming from mass media, the agencies, and the welfare clients. As takers, they will never support the producers.
That is why the Founders did not allow the propertyless to determine the fate of the assets of the propertied. And, because the Founders believed the servant did not get to tell the Master how much said servant was to be paid, they did not allow public servants to vote.
I can remember when Fedzilla bureaucrats were allowed to vote. Alas, the Founders were correct and Fed’crats vote for “mo bigga” bennies - and that led us to our present coming uncivil war between the Takers & the Producers.
I guess WE ARE NOT allowed to speak or express OUR views!!! The
MSM needs to be brought down I AM SO BEYOND ANGRY why should
WE have to WALK ON EGGSHELLS!!!!
Popcorn hell...
Bring chains, tire irons, and baseball bats toss ‘em into the House, and let ‘em have at it.
Ever see the Thailand Parliament idiots going at it??? Fun stuff!!! You don’t know who to root for, but it’s great entertainment to watch!!!
That’s true. I pretty much hate all politicians equally now. Of course some politicians are more hated then others.
Bundy is getting the Akin treatment. Get him to say something inarticulate, and then use it to smear his overall issue.
If they couldn't literally assassinate him, then politically assassinate him instead.
The difference is, it takes the people to go along with a political assassination.
The GOPe cheerfully goes along, as always.
