Back in the old C-band satellite days there was a preacher on one of the transponders 24/7. His name was Eugene Scott.
He had a lot of political stuff to say and decided not to seek tax exempt status.
He would say, “If you send me money, it’s for the teaching or a gift to me”. He said “I fund no orphanages or clinics or anything else so don’t expect that”
The money rolled in, the IRS was pissed, he was audited, he passed with ease.
I suppose in this gangster nation we have here now that the conservative groups will just have to fore-go tax exempt status and just find some right thinking oligarchs to fund them. Sheldon Adelson, are you there!?
