The mellow, "peace now," countercultural, environmentally conscious “420” celebration deposited 10,000 pounds of garbage on what is known as Hippie Hill in Golden Gate Park, leaving volunteers and park workers to clean up the mess.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle’s website SF Gate, this year’s celebration drew a massive amount of revelers estimated at between 10,000 and 15,000. The pot smokers' untidiness will cost the city more than $10,000 in cleanup costs.
The immense load of empty bags of chips, candy wrappers, and snack containers left behind was evidence that it was indeed the remnants of weed smokers with a case of the munchies on steroids.

I had to look up “420” to see what it was all about, since presumably they were not celebrating Hitler’s birthday (April 20).
And - guess what - none of the sites could decide why this became “national weed day.” Would you expect otherwise of a bunch of stoners?
Looks like an Obama inauguration.
“420” was a police code associated with marijuana.
Thus “420” became slang for marijuana and it’s easy to see how April 20 became weed day.
They chose Hitler’s Birthday to celebrate.
How apropos.
I’ve seen worse at the infield of the Indy 500. The difference is that 500 fans aren’t hypocrites; they know that’s the whole reason for being there.

Nothing matters except smoking weed on a daily basis. That’s the #1 priority in their lives.

These people are bad at math. If there were 10,000ish liberals there, at an average of say 150 pounds per liberal, that would be a lot more than 10,000 pounds of garbage.

I had the misfortune of being in Golden Gate Park Sunday and saw the crowds milling around. Put them all in one place and you’d fill the seats of a modest sized stadium.
