bronze statue of Joe Paterno seated on a bench is planned for installation outside the Tavern Restaurant in November 2015. The statue, designed by sculptor Zenos Frudakis, is in response to Rodney Ericksons decision to remove Joe Paternos statue from Porter Road in July 2012.
Theres been some level of frustration among Penn Staters with what happened with the statue at the stadium, Ted Sebastianelli, one of the organizers of the project, said. We wanted to come up with a way to honor Joe for all that he did for the State College community. It wasnt just the university he impacted it was the whole town.

Why announce plans? Just quietly make an offer to buy the stadium statue for pennies on the dollar.
Just as a “heads up”. When we Southerners try to honor our past, we’re labelled racists and told to get over it, we lost. Just sayin’.
Joe Pa should not be honored.
“A bronze statue of Joe Paterno seated on a bench...”
And just like the real Joe Paterno, one can sit on the bench right next to the bronze Joe and tell him about child sexual abuse crimes they have witnessed and the bronze Joe, just like the real Joe will not report it to the authorities.
FYI
Meanwhile a Jerry Sandusky statue should be placed outside every gay bar.
In 25 years, Jerry Sandusky will be heralded as a hero and innovator by the Gaystapo.....a man ahead of his time......
Why would you erect a statute for an accomplice to child rape? You have an absolute duty never to cover that vile activity up or ignore it. No excuse for his cover up. No Statue.
“Why would you erect a statute for an accomplice to child rape? “
Because, this statue will be the most life-like statue ever erected as it will always be silent, just like Joe Paterno.
God Bless the town and Penn State!!!!
Thank God you are not in charge.
Make it useful. Put a toilet seat on his lap and a flush handle on his left shoulder.
Awesome!! He was very silent.
They can make the statue more life-like by putting a blindfold & muzzle on it.
They ought to be ashamed of themselves for thinking about erecting any kind of memorial to him.
How ‘bout a bronze statue of Franco Harris holding a big bronze cardboard cutout of JoePa?
WHy not just name the fieldhouse after Paterno and the Shower Room after Sandusky?
