“Jewish presence” is the problem - it's not a Jewish state, they just have a presence just like they just had a presence in Germany. As an American, I wouldn't stay in a foreign country that just had an American presence, if war broke out in that country. I would not be one of them the government of that country had vowed to protect. I would be an outsider and would get out.
Note I said “if” I couldn't get a visa to America, I'd go to Israel. I don't trust Obama to let Jews in, whether or not they are highly educated and a valuable contributing person to society. Any Islamic radical Muslim would be welcomed to this country by another Islamic radical Muslim, the president of the united states.
Presence as an American is different than a religious presence. I post a lot of articles about persecution of Christians in Africa and the middle east. Were I a Syrian, Iraqi or Lebanese Christian, or Copy, I'd get my loved ones the h*ll out if I could. Sometimes you can't. At the same time I understand those who would like to maintain a Christian presence in historic lands. Jews couldn't, we couldn't even maintain a presence of any significance in Europe. I'm skeptical Christians will succeed in Islamic nations. But I respect their motivations, and think they should be supported. People should have paid attention when less than a decade after WWII Jews were being forced from homelands of two or three millennia. Wasn't going to end with Jews.
