A New Muslim Renaissance is Here
TIME ^ | April 16, 2014 | by Rabia Chaudry

History is witness to a time past when the Islamic civilization produced globally unparallelled architecture, literature, science, philosophy, theological discourse, and cultural influences – influences so strong it made European nobles want to dress like Muslims. Critics of Islam and Muslims scoff at this romanticism, asserting that Muslims have not produced anything great since the Middle Ages and most likely will never again. The inherent bigotry and even fallacy of that argument aside, for those critics I have to say, look out, a new Muslim renaissance is upon us.

In the midst of growing anti-Muslim sentiment in the US since 9/11, or perhaps thanks to it, this generation of Muslims is abandoning the traditional professions expected from immigrant parents (doctors, engineers, business people) and entering fields we all once thought were closed to us. The last decade has seen a steady and sure emergence of American Muslims as artists, writers, performers, activists, media personalities and intellectuals (on a global scale Muslims rank as top intellectuals). Inside the DC beltway you see evidence of this shift as well. Young American Muslims are working in national security, public diplomacy, foreign policy, politics – we have our share of hacks and wonks now too.

The idea that building things is the same thing as enlightened thinking and growth is strange indeed

Great building you show there. The tower’s architecture and engineering were performed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill of Chicago, with Adrian Smith as chief architect, and Bill Baker as chief structural engineer. The primary contractor was Samsung C&T of South Korea.

You assume instantaneous change.

Change is a process over time.

You fail to insert the Δ, the incremental change over time into your equation of reality. Bert's Rule: History is a process, not an event

I mentioned the culture now developing that is underway within the buildings. It is happening and is new and different than that in the recent past.

Mostly a mine’s bigger than yours contest among the nations with accidental oil wealth. Just heard the the Saudis plan to built the world’s tallest skyscraper and surge ahead of Dubai or whoever has the tallest building now.

A real renassiance and wise use of their oil money.

Critics of Islam and Muslims scoff at this romanticism, asserting that Muslims have not produced anything great since the Middle Ages and most likely will never again.

Muslims simply expropriated the knowledge of conquered Greek/Byzantine lands, and put it at the service of an emperor. If a so-called "Islamic" society ever does rise to prominence again, it will again be by putting conquered dhimmis in the service of the state for specific projects. Beyond this though, society will be an absolute dark-ages.

The Egyptians were white, and not Muslim.

Nothing you have stated backs the change you’re talking about.

Islam is a death cult, a cancer on the world period.

Fascinating, the game board on which you set your pieces. Presenting the Renaissance Center , Detroit MI, built in the 1970s to show that the city would recover from the riots and decay of the 60s. Unfortunately, the crime and mayhem in the streets and the corruption in City Hall dictated a different outcome, just as the honor killings and beheadings of innocents as well as the rise of Muslim Brotherhood to governmeantal authority predict a similar outcome for the the Moslem Renaissance.

On a global scale Muslims rank as top intellectuals.

Says who? ................................... That’s easy. Anyone who writes for the MSM is a self proclaimed intellectual, who is backed up by other self proclaimed intellectuals. Well just ask anyone of them, and they will tell you how intellectual they are, and that they are the best to conclude who is or is not an intellectual. They are so good at it they judge Limbaugh, Hannity, Cruz, Palin, Paul, et.al. as stupid. In fact anyone who disagrees with them is deemed dumb. All you have to do is agree with them, and then you can be considered a top intellectual in their eyes.

Arabs never have and never will produce anything of their own. They can certainly buy lots of shiny things with all the oil money they’ve been getting from the past several decades. The satanic cult that is islam is only capable of death and destruction, because that is what the father of lies brings.
