A New Jersey college professor says he was suspended for posting online a photo of his daughter wearing a "Game of Thrones" T-shirt with a "threatening" quote on it.
Francis Schmidt, an art and 3-D animation professor at Bergen Community College in northern New Jersey, told The Record he posted the picture of his 7-year-old daughter Jan. 12 wearing a T-shirt with the "Game of Thrones" quote, "I will take what is mine with fire and blood."...
...A day after posting the photo, Schmidt told The Record that he was questioned as to whether the photo was a threat against the dean. Despite his explanation, Schmidt said he was suspended without pay for eight days and ordered to see a psychiatrist before he would be allowed back on campus.
When Schmidt asked the officials why they thought the quote was threatening, one said, "'when you see the word fire, then someone shows up with an AK-47 here shooting everybody,'" he told the paper.
"I had no idea what to say to that," Schmidt added. "For God's sake, I'm a middle-aged art professor. I don't own any firearms."

I suppose they will want people to say “flame” instead of fire, since fire now equals guns. Amazing how these people think.
Glad I never got that Breaking Bad T shirt that says “I am the danger, I am the one who knocks”. Wouldn’t want the “offense” police coming after me...
Fire? hmmm....
My wife and I watched a few episodes a year or so ago after I read a few blurbs on the internet as to how great it was. It wasn’t. We were both a little bored and haven’t watched an episode since.
"Fire fighters responded to a 3 alarm fire on Main Street yesterday at the Match-fire building. The fire burned the building to the ground before fire fighters could put out the blaze. Fire insurance investigators say the fire caused $325,000 worth of damage. We spoke to Fire Chief Wayne Smith....
Community college officials: "Oh my god, they've got AK-47's!!! Turn off the television and get under the desks!"
Open invitation to robbers.
He'd have been thrown behind bars if the 7 year old happened to be eating a pop tart when the picture was taken.
He and the Dean must be butting heads. Not unusual for an art professor.
It probably would have helped his career. I’ve been thinking about changing my sex designation at the university.
I find myself skipping through most of the claptrap....I really only want to see that blonde girl with the dragons and how she progresses in building her army in preparation to return home.
That, and waiting to find out when/if that little prick king gets his just rewards.
Me too. Hope you saw the last espisode. If not watch it and see what happens regarding “ the little prick “
Shirts like that used to be half of my work wardrobe. It was subtly suggested that I stop wearing them, so I did.
Well, mostly.
Somebody else here told me about the little prick. I DVR’d it....I am gonna pop some popcorn tonight, open a can of beer and watch it delightfully! Maybe two or three times.

Very enjoyable, and unexpected as the plot unfolded...
Perhaps he should have her in a Salvation Army t-shirt. Their motto is “Blood and Fire.”
So, who is “they”?
I’m current through book five. There’s more people who are going to get what’s coming to them.
“I am the danger, I am the one who knocks. “

One of the most chilling statements in the show.
