As usual you have no idea what you are talking about. American troops are the trip wire that keeps a cold war from turning hot. The tin pot czar isn't goint to mess with the US Army. As we have seen recently Putin prefers to beat up the little sisters of the poor.
And it would probably save money deploying NATO troops in Poland. The US could just redploy a battalion of 173rd from Italy and other troops from Germany to Poland. Much cheaper to base them in Poland.

This is just an empty gesture. Russia is in Ukraine, it may go into Moldova. Russia is not going into Poland.
All this action does is play into Russia’s narrative that they are being encroached on.

Well this is no surprise...the meetings at the Atlantic Council have been full of leaders of the Baltics, and Poland President most recently, giving their speeches and assessments of the situation with Ukraine for weeks now, they all want “more” military and equipment and troops. Prior to this Nato was hashing over what it was going to do about the fact too many nations have opted out of sending troops the past, as with Libya and at other times, they had to determine if or not they were going to allow “any” to opt out in the future.....but as always they all pushed hard for “more “US involvement and much was centered on how the US should do this.
Imo....Nato and the EU, along with the Atlantic group “think-squad”, are determining what we will or won’t do...Obama is simply “following” accordingly...and doing so without any congressional authority to do so.
Moving them from Germany to Poland is a reasonable move in my opinion. Poland is pro-solidarity, iow, they value freedom. They’ve been more than friendly to the USA. They are much cheaper than Germany, so those draw-down forces in Germany are probably just moving up the road a bit.
There’s sense to it, but I’ll believe it when I see it, and if I were Poland, I wouldn’t count on them being there very long.

400,000 or 500,000? Don't insert tripwires if you're not willing to back up the implied threat. And no, I don't think Poland is at imminent risk. And yes, a NATO ally, we are obligated by law to assist. Better to send the Poles the defense systems we promised.
Am I the only one who thinks, for our own security, we should undertake a major drilling program here in the US. And for export. Accerlerate the approval of the couple dozen unapproved applications for LNG export terminals. Not one every couple years, all of them. And if oil prices are depressed, and if Russia is harmed financially, those are only consequences of America following policies that benefit America. If lower prices benefit Europe and harm Russia, it's irrelevant. Lower prices and jobs benefit America.
