I’d be a lot more impressed if this were a deployment of Norwegian, Belgian, Danish, Greek, Italian, Portugese, or Spanish NATO troops, instead of U.S. troops.

But, as usual, we have to carry the load, and the bill, because Europe spends on welfare, instead of defending itself.

This is big news if true. I have my doubts the kenyan will put a substantial force of US boots on the ground in Poland.

WTF...We just pulled thousands of troops out of Europe in the last 20 years

This is ‘cause of the Ukraine, but it’s not our fight...

NO BLOOD FOR VODKA

Knowing Obama, as we all do, this will be a piddly deployment of a couple of light regiments, no armor, no Calvary.

And no ALLIES.

We'd be better off and dignified by sending none.

The man is making us a laughing stock.

The time to place NATO troops in Poland was shortly after Poland joined NATO. About 1999 when the US still had tanks and anti tank aircraft in Europe.

Now, the Russians will see this as a provocation.

Europe, with the possible exception of Germany and Poland is like a spoiled child. Somebody else always has to take care of them.

Then they turn around and tell us how much better they are.

Have no fear! The commander of the armed forces knows what he's doing!

As usual you have no idea what you are talking about. American troops are the trip wire that keeps a cold war from turning hot. The tin pot czar isn't goint to mess with the US Army. As we have seen recently Putin prefers to beat up the little sisters of the poor.

And it would probably save money deploying NATO troops in Poland. The US could just redploy a battalion of 173rd from Italy and other troops from Germany to Poland. Much cheaper to base them in Poland.

I’d be a lot more impressed if this were a deployment of US troops to the US border with Mexico.

You are forgetting about all those graves across Eastern Europe of people murdered by Russians. Is that is not a Russian provocation? Poland is not the FSU. Putin can get bent if he doesn’t like NATO there.

Nigel Farage is correct when he says all the EU does is work out international loans to put already struggling nations deeper in debt.

You completely miss my point, and make my point, at the same time.

Yet again, WE have to supply the troops, and the treasure, because no one is afraid of the other paper tigers in NATO.

Why do WE have to carry the burden, instead of Italy? Or Oil money-rich Norway?

Isn’t long past time they start carrying the burden for Europe’s defense?

A weak leader sending troops to a hotspot usually turns out badly. Pray for our soldiers.

To Russia, *anything* that challenges its long-term goal of world conquest is a provocation.

“Now, the Russians will see this as a provocation.”

Quite correct....
Libs and Democrats screamed endlessly at ANY Bush proposal to put troops in Poland, despite the Poles offering free bases, free housing, etc.

I have no problem with permanent basing in Poland, we should have been there LONG ago. But this is reactive, not proactive.
