Retired pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson said Thursday that Americans are "being played by those people who want to divide, conquer and control." "The trend you can see in our society is if you are pro-life, then you're anti-woman," Carson said at a town hall meeting entitled "Religion in America," sponsored by local news station CBS12 in West Palm Beach, Fla. "If you're pro-traditional marriage, then you're homophobic. If you're a white person and you say something against a progressive black person, youre a racist. "We have gotten to this point to where we just like to label people and create division," Carson added. "Where the American people have to come in here is recognizing that we're being manipulated." He said that Americans are under attack by neo-Nazi groups and others who work to keep citizens from practicing their religion freely throughout the nation. "We, the American people, have to realize that we are not each other's enemies. The enemy are those people who are trying to divide us up." Carson, who is a Newsmax columnist, was among five panelists at the town hall meeting, attended by a diverse audience of nearly 100 Florida residents. He retired last summer as chief of pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore and his current book is "America the Beautiful." The town hall was live-streamed Thursday on the television station's website and taped for broadcast later this month.

5There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceeds from the ruler: 6Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place. 7I have seen servants on horses, and princes walking as servants on the earth.
8He that digs a pit shall fall into it; and whoever breaks an hedge, a serpent shall bite him. 9Whoever removes stones shall be hurt therewith; and he that splits wood shall be endangered thereby. 10If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct. 11Surely the serpent will bite without enchantment; and a babbler is no better. 12The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. 13The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. 14A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him? 15The labor of the foolish wearies every one of them, because he knows not how to go to the city. 16Woe to you, O land, when your king is a child, and your princes eat in the morning! 17Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobles, and your princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness! 18By much slothfulness the building decays; and through idleness of the hands the house drops through.
Should be somewhere in the new government.High up.
Does this guy have any downsides? I am beginning to wonder—he is too good. But hey, gopher it!
Give that man a medal. Tell me I’m racist when I applaud truth coming from a black man’s mouth and would gladly vote for him if he ran for office. Character really does matter and it will make people look at you in a different light and want to treat you respectfully (everyone conservative knows this but I don’t think some of the minorities, if we can call them that now, know it)
The good doctor must realize that those people who are trying to divide us are here already. They are in office, elected by gimme types and those hell-bent on the destruction of the greatest nation conceived by man. And we are each other's enemies. The true question is, when is enough?
This, from a guy who recently cried racism??
“Let me be clear.. MY IRS can audit you, regulate and deny you healthcare.. and if you still resist, surround you with armored vehicles and automatic weapons.
Recently, an article he authored implied that Republicans should concentrate their upcoming emphasis on largely one problem - the economy. Within his short dissertation, he appeared to me to urge appeasement about Republican elitism and to relent to winning just this one more time in order to tackle those other social issues like entitlement, and other topics ‘later’.
I took great issue with this and got some very heated responses back about my recalcitrance and unwillingness to just ‘go along, get along’. I was even called a racist [by more than one coward here] by implication at my objection because he is black.
All this said, it is refreshing to see him get back to basics and not succumb to blithering notions that one has to give up principles in order to see their real values realized.
One could only wish to stop those making their living off dividing people.
“Does this guy have any downsides?”
Is being an amnesty loving gun-grabber a downside?
Maybe amnesty.
“He is so right and so accurate in pinpointing them who destroy American citizens right, liberties and economy.”
Agreed!
This guys good... (Does that make me racist?)
I haven’t heard this allegation before. Source please. Thank you.
He will be in charge of reconstructing American Health Care.
I think his current efforts are urged and perhaps funded by business interests that hate Obamacare and see the need for brilliance.
The unfortunate problem is many walk around living while looking through a paper towel tube. They can’t see the forest because the field of view excludes most of life.
Is being a Trayvon Martin defender a downside? Posted at F.R. yesterday.
ooooo, that would do it!
Ben Carson; Trayvon Martin case should makes us reconsider what weapons (truncated)
Always do research on someone and never just read the nice things you like to hear about them. It's how you become a sucker.
Yep, I saw that. He should stick to medical issues.
