Portland administrators will flush 38 million gallons of water from Mt. Tabor Reservoir 5 after a 19-year-old man urinated in the city’s drinking supply.

“Even though there is very minimal public health risk, the bottom line is that our commitment is to serve water that’s clean, cold and constant,” said Water Bureau administrator David Shaff. “That doesn’t include pee. Not from people, at least.”

Hey, if that guy peed 12 ounces, that water is 0.000000247% pure urine! Yuck.

It’s idiotic, but charge the young man. Stupid often has a price.

Oh no! They can't put it i the ocean either, because that would contaminate the Beautiful Blue Pacific.

Guess they'll have to send it in rockets to the Moon!

Better get some help from the Chinese on that.

I sometimes wonder if these types of incidents are a coverup of some kind of tampering with the water supply...a terrorist attempt to poison water?

This is an insane, gross over-reaction.

Just the action of the wind on the surface of the lake will oxidize that little bit of urea in no time.

Oregon in even crazier than California.

I’m pretty sure he wasn’t the first nor last person to pee in it.

not to mention; frogs, snakes and turtles, too.
(the city water managers) stupidity; is their trade.

38 million gallons. Heh.

For those of you who don’t remember, or never knew, how cucumbers were held before being sent to the pickling plant, they were sorted by size and then dumped into large open wooden vats (only about 12-15 feet across and 5-6 feet deep, so a heck of a lot less than 38 million gallons per tank—more on the order of 3800). They were then brined by adding water and sufficient salt which kept them crisp during storage. Wooden planks were fastened over them, holding them in the brine.

These tanks, gradually being filled with cucumbers as the season progressed, were usually located near a railroad track, generally places where unsupervised kids gathered and played in the good old days. Use your imagination from here on. But people still ate pickles.

Reminds me of what happened at our library here: a worker dropped a fluorescent bulb and it broke. They removed all the books and replaced all the carpet, which was in good shape. Chicken Little nonsense, like `climate change’.

It will probably horrify them to know what the fish do in that water.

Long ago a prankster got one of those umbrella holders made from an elephant’s foot. He used it to make tracks in the mud around a reservoir. Hilarity ensued.

After the accidental contamination in Charleston, WV it’s obvious water systems are extremely vulnerable to attack.

Liberals hate humanity. It is one of their core psychological underpinnings. They don’t care if animals poop and pee and die in the lake because animals are innocent. But liberals despise humans who are able to reason and choose, so they must make examples of humans any time they can. It has nothing to do with any danger to the population, it is simply a way to punish humanity in the same way they did during the shut down when they closed the parks and memorials. They are sick twisted people whom, even if I felt a tinge of sympathy for their supposed causes, I detest for their sniveling dishonesty.
