If true, this is poetic justice.

I can’t wait for the first dog owner to rig his mutt up so that it can fire back to protect itself.

He was so afraid of the dog that he decided suicide was the only answer?

So let’s do this math:
Police have to constantly shoot peoples dogs because they are in peril of being killed by them.
Citizens, lots of places including LA where this happened, are not allowed to have any means of protecting themselves from these dogs that police consider a lethal threat.
In this case, 2+2 means the government doesn’t care if you die.

Remove gun from holster, aim, pull trigger.
Failure to perform those steps in the correct order is bad.

This story could have been better if the dog was able to grab the gun and run off with it afterward.

if he the dog didn't nail him after the dumbsh!t shot hisself, i'm guessing he didn't need to pull his gun in the first place...

The dog will be charged with communicating threats and contributory negligence. The deputy will be absolved of any wrongdoing and placed on six weeks paid administrative leave,

It is all about Karma.

What did they charge the dog’s owner with?

LEO’s gun goes bang, someone is going to jail.

I love the kids in the background hugging and playing with the dog.

“Large pitbull” my butt. That dog barely came to the knees of the little kids.
