Okay. So the prophecy says there will be a New Jerusalem on Earth, and then that will be wiped away and it’ll just be the one in Heaven, right? This is what is going to happen?
At the very end, yes. Once the mortal coil has completed its purpose. Then, if you are a believer, A_perfect_lady really WILL become a perfect lady.
We’ know when it's going to happen when the abomination stands on the mercy seat of the Ark. From then onward all things are on a time table.
Until it happens we just watch for prophesied events.
Revelation 3:
[3] Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
The penalty for not watching is rather severe!

And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. The Lamb is its light. 24 And the nations of those who are saved[l] shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.[m] 25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). 26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.[n] 27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes[o] an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
