As Mein Kampf makes clear, Hitler sought to unite all the people of German speech and culture into one state, or Reich, preferably by peaceful negotiation, otherwise by war and conquest...
Todays drift toward war with Russia seems like a replay of the past. Putin is a Russian nationalist, who believes in a strong Stalinist state. His goal is to reverse the events of 1989the end of the Soviet state and dissolution of its enormous empire...
...to wield against the various weak states that were part of the U.S.S.R... All have ethnic Russian minorities, who speak the language, boast of their superior Russian culture and claim to have been relegated to second-class citizenship. Putin can rely on these minorities to agitate for Russian intervention whenever he wantsmost importantly in the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. His successful annexation of Crimea is greatly encouraging to his long-term plans, and its clear hell use everything in his power, including military force, to reconstruct his empire.

Johnson nails it.
Johnson is writing about Putin’s nationalist ambitions, not about racial and religious bigotry. He makes an interesting case. He certainly pegs BO well:
“Clearly theres something fundamentally wrong with the U.S. President.”
He’s a nasty character for sure.
But all Hitler comparisons fall flat until he kills his first 20 million.
US-Russian relations under the Czar were cordial, yet they were an Empire and doing some bad things back then as well, we didn’t seem to mind so much, we figured it was their “Sphere of Influence.”
I don’t like seeing the Hitler card being used with Putin....Maybe the “Czar” card, but that’s a completely different thing.
Every few years the media gets in a tizzy about some new thug on the block -- and starts comparing them to Hitler. In reality, none of them have been anything like the actual Hitler. That goes for Putin as well.
What would you want the United States to do? Invade Russia?
Whether he is or he isn’t, one thing is clear - Obama intends to sit back and watch Putin’s moves with an idiot grin on his face and his thumb stuck up his *ss.
Obama’s only political activities these days are to aggregate political power within the US, persecute conservatives, and destroy the constitution.
Is it any wonder that Putin is thumbing his nose?
He’s not even close.
Wait and see how the persecution of Christians is executed in the West.
It appears to me at first glance that the majority of the people of Crimea and the whole Ukrane like being Russian and want to go back into the fold.
This is not Czechoslovakia or Poland This is more like Austria.
He's not as bad as Obama in many respects.
Obama has dedicated himself to making war on his own country America.
Putin puts the well being and improvement of his country first.
We may not agree with Putin's views of what is good and what is not good but we cannot ignore the fact he is a patriot
any more than we can ignore the fact that Obama is not a patriot.
Putin shows love and pride in Russia.
Obama shows hate and embarrassment for America.
Mother of God, chase Putin away!
Depending on how one’s perspective, Putin could be WORSE than Hitler, if he ever decides to really ‘break bad’. I don’t think Putin would have the same foolish tendencies to commit military blunders that Hitler did.
Russia has 100X more ‘Lebensraum’ than the tiny Russian people could ever use in a thousand years.
YOU GET IT... thanks.
No need to wait... we see it everyday in the U.S. news... keyword search: homoagenda.
They’re just pushing the “Putin is like Hitler” meme because they want to steer away from the idea that socialist/communist/leftist governments are evil and tyrannical.
Last year our military spending was $640 billion
Russia spend $88 billion.
OHHHHH Scarrrry boys and girls.
Why would you think that would be the primary or only solution? I suspect you did not read the short article or consider Johnson’s argument.
