They "roughed" him real good!
Notes: Madera is in Central California, about 15 miles north of Fresno, the home of Free Republic.
The article refers to AB109. This is the law which has let bunches of felons out early to ease overcrowding. It's generic name is "prison realignment."
AB 109 What is it and what does it mean to California counties?

When they arrived, officers found residents holding down the suspect, Jeremy Williams.

My concern is with the residents. In the FUBO world we live in today, I wouldn’t be surprised if they too were arrested and if not, will they later be charged or even sued by the suspect?

Dangdest thing the people ever saw. He fell down and got up and fell down again. Just kept falling down. What an unfortunate man.

Anything’s possible. But Madera is a conservative town and Madera PD is view as conservative. They wouldn’t have any sympathy for Mr. Burglar.

I think a communal beat down like this makes a bigger impression on a habitual thief than a successful standoff or minor wounding by a single homeowner. This guy isn’t going to go back there for revenge.

Good thing he wasn’t black, or they would all be in jail.

I think it is a heartwarming tale that these good citizens stepped in to rescue this man from repeatedly striking himself in the face with blunt instruments. In other communities, citizens would have stood by but here in Madera, they got involved and took the appropriate action.
I think they should all get medals and a month of free lunches at Chick-Fil-A.

If he goes back for revenge, he gets another beat down. Eat, sleep, beat, repeat. Eat, sleep, beat, repeat.

If I was writing the police report....
“I arrived on the scene and found the suspect badly in need of major medical attention. No one else was nearby and there were no witnesses as to why his teeth were knocked out and why he was bleeding profusely and....”

Thank God they only released the inmates which are not dangerous!
We get one of these stories about 5 times a week in CA. John and Ken on KFI 3-7Pm feature them on occasion.
To: Enterprise
It used to be in small town America that if the local criminal element crossed the railroad tracks and caused trouble the town elders would get together and have an “understanding” with the troublemaker.
