Rory Reid: Rancher Cliven Bundy "Should Be Prosecuted"
Real Clear Politics ^ | April 15, 2014 | RCP staff

RORY REID, SON OF SEN. HARRY REID:

We believe in a country in which we are subject to laws and you can’t just ignore the laws we don’t like. I think clearly if state and local prosecutors look at this more closely, they’re going to find that he broke the law and he should be prosecuted.

Beck’s take on that was that the solar plant wasn’t anywhere near the Bundy ranch’s grazing area.

The real story is that the plant IS going in 100 miles away,
but they have to “make up for” the lost turtle habitat by taking Bundy’s grazing area.

So it IS the Chinese solar company and Rory Reid that are responsible for the land grab.

What a freakin’ idiot.....If I was Harry Reid, the last person on earth I would want to have make the slightest comment about Cliven Bundy would be Rory. Even if the Chinese solar panel company angle is totally bogus (I don’t think so), then why would you have one of its primary beneficiaries comment on the Bundy Ranch standoff, when you know those “crazy, Tea Party Republicans” are doing everything they can to link the two events up?

Obama does! Holder does! Probably 75% of all government officials do, then so can we. Welcome to the New American Order, established by the criminal administration that set the example. Reap what you sow criminal politicians.

When people are going to start shooting the thugs assigned to enforce some law on a peasant, that pretty clearly means that they ARE going to IGNORE what Mr. Reid thinks should happen.

Little boy Rory has big daddy Harry to cover his back.

Meanwhile, a family of ranchers, that has been a family of ranchers before big daddy Harry was born, became ‘persons of interest’ to big daddy Harry, because what the ranchers are doing, is getting in the way of Harry and son’s future business.

Watch that senile old Harry try some kind of eminent domain crap soon.

Apparently the City of Las Vegas also wants to expand to the north and needs ecological impact offsets (like getting all the cattle off the Bunkerville and Gold Butte Allotments ).

The Neil Kornze - Rustler Reid run BLM is all too happy to accomodate.

Why does the son of a supposedly ‘unconnected’ elected politician think he has any say in the matter at all?

I agree. Why are the Reids even getting involved? It sure seems like they have a dog in this race. Where there is smoke...

Additionally, the solar plant was on county land, not BLM land. So, it has nothing to do with the turtle.

This is not complicated.

The law and the regs are embodied in the Federal Lands Policy and Management Act of 1976. And the Sagebrush Rebellion coincides with that act of Congress.

Rory “Do you know who I am” Reid represents the Chinese Solar Panel company that wants the land.

I now do actually affirm and believe this is the motivation. I have only done about 2.5 hours of research on this entire history of this. While it sounds like something out of a movie, all the pieces fit nicely for what is happening today. But the tortoise side of the issue is not relevant any more. Forgive me is some of the time frames are a bit off. As I mentioned, I am still researching this. Corrections are welcomed.

I encourage FReepers to thoroughly educate themselves on this (as most do anyway). But here is the skinny of it.

Some argue the Fed owns all land not previously purchased. This is not documented beyond treaties, agreements or ancient purchasing, sale and lease rights regarding individual citizens or the use of the land. In unmanaged territories/land, land is for public use. The Bundy's have been publicly using the land in question since before Nevada was even a state. There was no Federal involvement. 30 years ago, it seem,s the feds needed an excuse to collect fees and the desert tortoise found its way on an endangered species list. Whether the tortoise was actually even endangered was questionable back then. But we had just "saved" the bald eagle (or were well on our way). So what could it hurt. It was decided that cattle was bad for the habitat and somehow this could be mitigated by having cattle ranchers pay fees to let their herds graze. Sound familiar? Think carbon credits. Again, there was no evidence that suggested the relatively few cows in the large expanse of territory had any detrimental habitat to the endangered species. In fact, there was and is some research that proposes the opposite is true.

Originally, the Bundy's fought the ruling, lost and got a permit. With a nose under the tent, the fed started playing with fee structures. The Bundy's continued the fight and refused to pay along with some others. That was almost 30 years ago. Along the way, the fed did arrest someone as a token. Then the fed backed off and quietly continued a slow roll in court.

The issue got aggressive and picked up steam again a few years ago when the Harry's son got involved in an investment that needed the land for a solar farm. Harry pushed through some legislation to grease the skids. No mention of the tortoise during those proceedings. I wonder why.

The solution to this ordeal is to have the "endangered species" removed from the list. The grazing fees again have no purpose as the land is not managed otherwise.

Is this the Reid son who has a deal with a Chinese Company to build a Solar Power plant on the Bundy property?

Yes! And it is public record. Several sights referencing the deal have been scrubbed. But many Freepers still have links and screen shots that indeed prove this to be true.

Like giving $16000 to a daughter from your re-election funds in violation of law? And shouldn't your corrupt old father be prosecuted accordingly?

Rory, YOU KNOW that if “state and local” prosecutors took a hard look at you and your dad, and were un-intimidated, and found an honest judge, you would both be in jail.

So, please, you and Lies Wiehl and Megan CAN the “it’s the law crap”!!!

Rory and the old man both should be prosecuted.

As is happening today. The government handed down edicts, laws and rules that made citizens criminals by non-compliance. This rancher was way ahead of his time in fighting the injustice 30 years ago. Our fore fathers started their "criminal enterprise" against the King in the same fashion.

Rosa Parks ignored law when she refused to go to the back of the bus (if you can call those laws back then). I would offer that our founding documents expect the citizens to rise up against tyranny when it comes. And I would argue that the first chips to be placed are ignoring tyrannical rule, especially when it is fed to us under the guise of the common good.
