Kerry: Our Goal is Not Eliminating Iranian Nuclear Capability
Posted By Daniel Greenfield On April 15, 2014 @ 7:30 pm In The Point | No Comments
Sometimes a choice of words can be extremely revealing. That was the case with Kerry’s contentious testimony in front of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Under pressure, Kerry tends to slip and say revealing things. That was how the infamous, “for it and against it” clip was born.
Kerry dismissed breakout as just having one bombs worth, conceivably, of material, but without any necessary capacity to put it in anything, to deliver it, to have any mechanism to do so, and otherwise.
He then admitted that our goal is not eliminating nuclear capability as much as proving that this is a peaceful program.
The first part of that is a preview of the next stage of Obama Inc’s Iran argument. One bomb doesn’t matter. Wait until they have thirty.
The second part however is even more revealing.
I talked with our team on the ground in Vienna yesterday, Kerry said. They are having serious, expert, in-depth, detailed conversations about what it takes to achieve our goal. I mean, of proving that this is a peaceful program.
Proving the peacefulness of Iran’s program should be its responsibility. It’s not supposed to be our goal to prove that, but to find ways of confirming it.
But Kerry spoke truly. He is out to prove that it’s peaceful. Whom is he out to prove it to? To Americans.
Just as in Vietnam and Nicaragua, Kerry has once again adopted the viewpoint of the enemy and is using it to make the enemy’s argument to Americans.
Thanks SJackson.
> He then admitted that “our goal” is not eliminating nuclear capability as much as “proving that this is a peaceful program.”
Well of course he wants to “prove” that — then everyone will roll over on the “agreement” and “treaty”.
That's absurd and he knows it. Iran test fired ballistic missiles from a barge in the Caspian Sea in the 1990s. They put a satellite in low earth orbit in 2009. If you believe the reports about Operation Merlin, they already have the blueprints for a compact warhead. All they're missing is the fissile material.

Actually, it’s like watching the cheerleaders (for the other team) play the NFL.
Wow. We are so screwed.
You will rot in hell,Mr Kerry...both for having helped the Communists win in Vietnam *and* for helping the moslem pig fornicators in Iran get a nuke.
Yeah, and he “won” three Purple Hearts, too...
...or so I’ve heard...
...from him...
...about a thousand times...
I think the United States should have offered the opportunity to provide the nuclear fuel, test them [the Iranians], see whether or not they were actually looking for it for peaceful purposes. If they weren’t willing to work a deal, then we could have put sanctions together. The president did nothing.
John Kerry - during a Sept. 30, 2004 foreign policy debate with former President George W. Bush
I believe either the Euros or Russia offered that deal some years ago, possibly both. Since the objective is nuking Israel, I wouldn’t trust either of them, Russia less than the Euros, but Iran didn’t bite. For good reason, they’re getting a much better deal from Obama
First he concludes in advance of any investigation that it is a peaceful program, and then his goal is to prove it. So long as he stays objective and judicious./s
Gee “our” goals change a lot.
Reminds me of Lone Ranger asking “What do we do now Tonto?” and Tonto responds, “What do you mean ‘we’, white man”?
Kerry recently said it was also not “our” (USA’s) goal to have Arabs/Muslim nations recognize Israel as a “Jewish state” as UN guaranteed some 60+ years ago.
Kerry is a fraud. He has always believed American diplomacy is supposed to accept what our opponents say, at face value, and refuses to accept we have absolutely NO obligation to do so and do so ONLY at our risk, a risk we need not and should never take.
What a moroon
