A majority of people in the United States perceive President Obama as being "mixed race, a new poll suggests.
In a study of America's evolving demographics, the Pew Research Center found 52 percent of people view Obama as being "mixed race." Less than a third view him as "black."
More than half of white people view Obama as "mixed race," but more than half of black people view the president as "black."

duh?
WHO CARES!? Why is this an issue?
I guess we need a pole to see how many people think water is wet.
Is this important?
I think mulatto is the word they are looking for.
I’m actually more interested in why he considers himself black.
Why is it so important to Obama's media minions that we indulge this fantasy that he's 100% African-American, as opposed to half European-American and half Kenyan?
Prove it.
Maybe he hated his mom.
Couldn’t possibly be political expediency could it?
I consider him white.Genetically,he’s *at least* half white and his four most important influences (his whore mother,Saul Alinsky, his white Maoist grandfather, and his white Maoist, domestic terrorist pal) are/were all white.
Very few mixed race people choose to be white. For some strange reason most choose to be an “oppressed” person.
High Yella?
He’s 100% halfassed.
I give up — human and what other?
I see no reason to indulge in perpetuating an irrelevant fantasy in either direction.
People are people. Not show dogs.
There is no value of any sort in some sort of genetic pedigree.
Just put “mixed” and refuse to play any game of percentages.
Not only do you get to be factual, it seems to unhinge both the left and apolitical atheists. Worth doing for that alone.
I always check “No answer” when filling things out that ask for my race.
I think it is but I can’t put my finger on it. In the days of miscegenation laws any drop of Black blood was the legal basis in some states as classifying someone as Black to their potential detriment. Blacks more than whites now seem to harbor the antiquated notion. Further it’s been used by Democrats, and Obama, to advance their goals.
I’m Black like you so you should vote for me and Hope and Change. In a sense it’s self deception based on a now discredited prejudice. Obama was the latest scam trotted out by Democrats to keep Blacks on the plantation. Since he’s probably more white than Black, why is the “blackness” more important? His experiences growing up were not those typical of oppressed Blacks. He actually had a privileged upbringing and life which was essentially given to him and not earned. As such his claim to the ability to lead Blacks to the Promised Land via Hope and Change is bogus as hell.
What we had was an extremely deceptive marketing campaign that took advantage of misconceptions. From that aspect the poll is revealing. Obama in a nutshell was seen as the Black savior when in fact he advanced the self-enslavement of Blacks by playing on their prejudices.
Blacks didn’t gain anything by Obamas ascension to power on what is a false premise. To the contrary he has sullied the notion of a capable Black president among many and worsened the economic prospects of Blacks.
It is a valuable discussion - not the President specifically, but “race”. There is one race - the human race - and there are innumerable varieties of skin color (melanin). In the discussion of blackness, is it skin color or heritage? Does my great great grandfather’s blackness and my great grandmother’s Cherokeeness make me a black Cherokee even though I look like a purebred Viking? Does my heritage have no value because of my melanin. What reparations would my family get when the wingbats get their way? What is the line between black and not black, what shade exactly? Or can we all be Elizabeth Warren and name it, claim it? We should have this discussion.

You know I am NOT allowed to say anything about how he married into...
But there is a Star Wars explanation...
