A group of Asian Americans is starting a grassroots effort to garner support for the Republican Party and its candidates, saying the GOP most closely aligns with their core values including family, education and entrepreneurship.
The group, the Asian Republican Coalition, is co-founded by international investment banker John Ying, who during the 2012 presidential election cycle served on the Republican National Finance Committee.
We need a forum, and this first step will go a long way, Ying told FoxNews.com earlier this week.
He hopes the effort, which will include a May 6 kickoff event at the Newseum in Washington, D.C., will provide a friendly front door for both potential voters and Republican lawmakers and officials.
While much of the Republican Partys focus has recently been to trying to connect with Hispanic voters, considering Democratic President Obama won 71 percent of their vote in his re-election victory, Asians are the countrys fastest-growing ethnic group, according to a 2012 U.S. Census report.
However, over the past three presidential election cycles, Asians have increasingly voted Democrat: 73 percent for Obama compared to 26 percent for GOP nominee Mitt Romney in 2012; 62 percent for Obama compared to 35 percent for GOP nominee Arizona Sen. John McCain in 2008; and 56 percent for Democratic nominee John Kerry compared to 44 percent for GOP winner George W. Bush in 2004.
How did the Republican Party lose us? Ying asks.

Please show me any compatible “core values”. They seem to have been left out.
A lot of “Asian” voting for Democrats is Indian/Pakistanis/Muzzie etc
The Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese are also voting Democrat but not as bad.
To a large extent voting Democrat for the above is voting against the white party which is how they see Republicans. So its somewhat a racist vote going on ,of course Obungu and Democrats are loving it!
:)
Life is good... thanks for sharing.
Someone explain to me how this works? All races but whites have political and lobbying groups?
What’s wrong with the core values (ie platform)?
The only problem with “GOP core values” is that the GOP-e reject or ignore them.
I doubt it had anything to do with the Republicans. It's probably because they watched the RATagandists on their Japanese and Korean TV sets.
"Whats wrong with the core values (ie platform)?"
It's all lies?
It's a pile of bullsh!t?"
The GOP doesn't believe in it, support it or act on it in anyway at all ever?"
Shall I continue?
No, because you are totally feculent.
I already said the GOP-e don't follow the platform. The voters believe it, the TEApublicans believe it, and we believe it.
If you hate Republicans so much, and what we stand for, find another venue.
Make me.
I hate the GOP.
What the Hell are you going to do about it beside not a damn thing.
You want to believe lies, do it.
Who cares.
What are you, some kind of Libertarian Freak?
This is a Republican site. Take it up with the owner.
This is a Conservative site, not a Republican one.
And where do you find elected conservatives? In the RAT party, among the RINOs, the tons of elected Libertarians?
This shit ruined Europe too.
Because let's face it.....
You are either European or not
Everyone else classes themselves as Asian, African etc. (rightly so)
But when we do that, we are RACIST!
I’ve lived in Hawaii for over half my life, and have many Filipino friends. One family I am close with all work as maids and dishwashers in the hotels here.
They are simple, decent, and incredibly hard working American citizens who do not like paying taxes and generally support the republican party. I’ve never met finer people than the Filipinos.
However, I have gone to some of their Filipino churches and invariably the minister tells the congregation how to vote, and it is usually for the current power structure which in Hawaii is almost always democrats except for the Lingle years.
Also about 70% of the DOE department of education is Japanese/Chinese, and that vote is solid democrat; again because that is the power structure here if you want a job or promotion. Hard to break away from the plantation.
It’s too bad that the Filipino’s church leads them to vote for an anti-God political party and anti-life, pro-gay marriage, political platform.
All the Indians I know vote republican. They are hard working business men and women with very close families. The first two Asian American Governors were Republicans of Indian descent. The first Vietnamese congressman was a republican. Of course the one thing these 3 all have in common is that they reside in the south.
No, I am a conservative.
What are you, someone who is so stupid that he doesn’t realize he has been played like a fiddle?
Keep rolling down that hill, rock, you will eventually smash into the bottom, durr hurr.
That much is obvious.
You should quit while you are behind.
