Bush 43 was a socialist.

What hateful, repulsive, offensive and false nonsense you peddle.

The rabid hateful bushbots destroyed the credibility of the conservative opposition to big government.

The tools worshipped him instead of opposing his drunken-sailor spending.

It's possible to be a socialist without actually being a socialist.

I agree that George Junior was probably not a socialist.

He may have been a tongue-tied moron, amnesty-treason hustler, and Saudi-king kisser...but out-and-out socialist - probably not.

Why was that statement false? Bush was a socialist. He believe in big government. If Bush’s statement about needing socialism to save capitalism when he pushed for the bailouts wasn’t enough to convince you that he’s a socialist, then nothing will

What naivete you express. H..W. was born and bred in the Rockefeller wing of the Grand Ole Plantation. This was the same wing that worked harder against Reagan’s policies then the rats. Then, as soon as his 8 years were up, H.W. ran back to the Statist, Corporatist, Ruling class policies faster than you can say Jackie Robinson. These are the same people who put an end to the brief respite of Newt’s success and, now, go by what we commonly call Republicans (GOP-E).

Neither Bush president were socialist but they sure as hell weren’t conservatives.
And as for that, “compassionate conservativism” that was a load of crap.

Bailing out the large businesses with TARP (taxpayers money and the national debt) in 2008 sure doesn’t sound capitalistic to me.....

W stuck us with the misnamed Patriot Act, the TSA, the Department of Reichland Security, Medicare part D, massive debt, not one but two Vietnam type wars we lost, ruined the military equipment built up by Reagan, tried so shove Amnesty down our throats, signed a ban on light bulbs, perpetuated the ethanol scam, completely ruined the Republican brand and thereby gave us Obama.

Bush did major damage to the conservative movement. If you don't like socialist, how about evil bastard, or fascist?

It's a shame that party affiliation blinds so many people (on both sides) to the fact that there wasn't all that much difference between Bush and most Democrats.

Under his watch, we got TARP, No Child Left Behind, a push to give illegal immigrants amnesty, increased subsidies for prescription drugs, a VP who told us that "deficits don't matter", and a whole host of other things that would have you scream bloody murder if they happened under a Democrat's watch.

Now that the RNC is about to coronate another Bush, I suppose the party faithful will be making excuses for Jeb too.

Your post is just as inaccurate and hyperbolic as the one you disdain

Bush was a decent guy but deeply lacking as a conservative

Bush 43 started as a decent POTUS. The country couldn’t ask for better after 9-11.
He faded towards the end but he is still 100% better than what we got in the whitehouse now.
