PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- Tennessee Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn will consider running for president in 2016 -- if she sees an opportunity to do so, an aide to the 7th District Republican told RealClearPolitics. Blackburn is scheduled to be one of the speakers at a New Hampshire Republican rally this weekend but was not previously known to be mulling a White House bid.
"If there's a door to kick down, she's willing to kick it down," the aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said. "These are the kinds of events you go to -- test the waters, and see what the reaction is."

She was a good TN State Senator, a moderate US REP. NO THANKS.
Would you assess her as ‘pragmatic’, i.e. RINO? She sure has some fire to her. I’ve always been impressed by her stance, but I was also impressed by Ryan’s stance years ago. Now he’s dead to me.
What do you think of Blackburn?
Wasn't she the old woman who sat on the park bench with the old man on Laugh In? /sarcasm
thx.
I think we’ll need to run a Conservative woman to win in 2016, and she both covered.
This is, she has both covered.
I think she should’ve run for Governor or Senator. This is more akin to Bachmann’s abortive run in 2012. House members just don’t make that sort of jump.
The only thing that stopped Bachmann was her constant gaffes. Too bad, because she was very solid on the issues.
Gaffes are only unforgiveable sins with Republicans (or if there aren’t any, the media/entertainment/Democrat machine will just make them up, AKA Tina “Scarface” Fey’s “I can see Alaska from my house” attached on to Gov. Palin). Democrats can make them at will without any fear of being held accountable.
I agree with your overall assessment, but for someone wanting to lead the free world, unforced errors like her Elvis gaffe were inexcusable and impossible to overcome.
Sightly to the right of moderate, strong conservative on guns, pro life. She did prevent the State Congress from shoving through a Unconstitutional State Income Tax. Not as strong as Palin though.
I’d have to take a hard look at here US record, they seem to change when they go to DC over a State Congress position...those big bucks get in their way.
