Full title: LA County Sheriff's Deputies Admit to Fatally Shooting Innocent Man
The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department admitted on Thursday that deputies mistakenly shot and killed a 30-year-old man after mistaking him for the suspect in a hostage situation earlier this week,
Authorities confirmed that John Winkler was one of three hostages inside a West Hollywood apartment during the standoff. The victim had gone into the apartment to help the other hostages after hearing screaming coming from the residence.
Officials said in a statement the three deputies on the scene saw one of the other hostages bolt out of the residence as they arrived.
He was covered in blood and bleeding profusely from the neck, the statement read. Simultaneously, Winkler ran out of the door, lunging at the back of the fleeing victim. Both ran directly at the deputies.

The hostages ran out of the apartment unarmed, towards the deputies, and they just opened fire on them, killing the man helping the hostage out, and also wounded a hostage at the same time...
After, they simply went in and arrested the suspect inside...

“They like to shot first and ask questions later,” neighbor Monica Lewis said. “If there was no sign of a weapon or anything there was no reason to shoot them.
(They are trained to look at a suspects hands for weapons....Or use to be)
This is what you’d expect to happen during a full on violent war...Just open fire.

If our troops did this in Iraq they’d be prosecuted.

When I underwent LEO training it was simple. You shot armed or dangerour people, you do not shoot unarmed or non dangerous poeple. Killing dogs is for Aminal Control and the SPCA. Houses, apartments etc have numbers on the so that you can get the right address and on and on.
With the amount of negligent shootings by law officers these days I question if the get any training at all.........
Identify your target have a clean field of fire and fire only the rounds necessary to stop the perp. Hitting car with 80 plus shots is likely yo be excessive..........

The Deputies are just upset that they could not also shoot the guys dog.... it is in their operations manual. Their union also demands it as part of their recommended method of operation. Fairness in dealing with the public unless the victim is an African American and then the union demands the dogs owned by all the whites present be killed.
"It is what we do" proudly proclaimed the union representative.

They shot the unarmed man to death who was helping the hostage, and also shot and wounded the hostage... So they shot everybody, maybe they were never taught the difference between a hit and a rescue at cop school.

It isn’t training, it is attitude. Modern LE attitude is “If in doubt, kill.” They think they are in Iraq. It is the same with their over aggressive attitudes.
The best training in the world can’t correct attitude.
