Star Trek actress Kate Mulgrew denies willing involvement in geocentrism documentary
National Post ^ | April 9, 2014 | Staff

As Star Trek: Voyager Captain Kathryn Janeway, Kate Mulgrew knew her way around a solar system or two. So there was a certain irony to the actress’ voiceover work in the upcoming documentary The Principle, which focuses on the notion of geocentrism: the idea that the sun revolves around the Earth.

But Mulgrew has dispelled the notion that she buys into the documentary’s central premise, writing in a post on her Facebook page that she is “not a geocentrist, nor am I in any way a proponent of geocentrism.”

“I was a voice for hire, and a misinformed one, at that,” Mulgrew clarifies in the post about her involvement with the documentary, directed by Catholic author and theologian Robert Sungenis. “I apologize for any confusion that my voice on this trailer may have caused.”

Correct. I don’t like being shouted at in posts.

Okay, one more go-round:

IF you truly were ever heavily involved in doing voice-over work, you would know that the capitalizion of specific words and phrases usually denotes emphasis. When the producer wanted shouting, it was labelled as such in the script and the talent knew what to do.

Did you enjoy you career in sales and behind-kissing? (Which is my way of saying "You are just as or more rude than I.")

You are correct about the way copy is written (concerning all-caps). This isn’t copy for voice-overs, so I don’t use that style. You can do it if you want to, but it will be taken as shouting. Don’t shoot me, I’m the messenger.

My career wasn’t in either sales or ass-kissing, I just did what was required to get a paycheck. That paycheck was never large enough (my talent was not that great), so I moved on to another profession.

A profession where I don’t have to worry about jerks taking every word I say so literally.

Good for you. I guessed poorly. I didn't ever escape the occasional presence of a jerk -- ever. And honestly, you cannot either. But why imply I'm a jerk?

And did you not know this is a website for conservatives -- people like me and you -- to express our ideas FREELY, using underlinings, all-caps for emphasis, emoticons and visual imagery, irony, sarcasm, parody, and anything else that is civil to make our statements FREELY!

The owner of this website is alive and did not make you censor of the use of capitalization or anything else like that. But, I'm glad you detected what I said in another post: My voice is me, and I am what I write is me, and I'm always prepared to back up my words with actions as needed. You are the rude one and have totally detracted from the meanings and intents of my comments on this thread.

It would be disingenuous to call Robert Sungenis a Catholic theologian any more than to call Fred Phelps a Baptist minister.

He wrote several good books and then went right off the rails.

If that is the case, I have no idea why she is doing it.

i assume it's the same reason Halle Berry did the movie, BAPS... because it's a job, and she needs to work... i do not believe she has to be attached, so to speak, to the work she does for dinero...

in Orange is the New Black, she plays a Russian woman in prison... she's the main mama for some of the gals...

The late Bob Crane once said that Hogan’s Heroes, by that time out of production, was in syndication in 70 countries. Mike Douglas (it was on his show) asked, what about Germany and Japan. Yes, it’s popular in Germany, and in Japan it’s shown as a documentary. ;’)

He also claimed that black Africans are the source for all learning, but it was all stolen from them. He referred to “them Greek homos” for example:

Yeas, I think you're correct about that. Some days, I take myself too seriously.

Same here.

Trained and worked as a pollster (poli-sci degree and first few years out of college.)

ANY of us would rather do a great job for a candidate or issue we hated than a lousy job for someone/something we loved. The best analogy is to athletes - if I’m pitching a game, even if it’s for the hated Dodgers against my beloved Giants, I’m going to do the best I can, period.

They originally cast Genevieve Bujold for the role, but she couldn’t take the pace, or at least, I heard this somewhere.

I heard that her screen test was an absolute train wreck

No, it’s not me. It’s Christ in me now and me in Christ now. And there is still (plainly) too much of me, as John the Baptist indicated.

The first thing Captain Janeway did was get unbelievably lost. Just sayin'.
