He did. And I still think he’s the greatest hitter to play the game.
But once again, he proves that athletes and entertainers should stay away from public policy.
All these people like to point at Republicans and cry “racist.” But they can’t point to one single Republican policy that actually is racist.
Unless of course it would be policies that promote personal accountability, family responsibility, deferred gratification, independence, achievement by merit and actually working for something instead of waiting for your welfare ration.

Hank is 80. Onset of dementia?
To: rktman
It’s a shame for a grown man to display such ignorance.
To: rktman
They honored Hank last night at Turner Field in celebration of the anniversary of his breaking Babe Ruth’s record. The Mets spoiled the evening with a 4-0 win. Go Mets!
To: rktman
Poor Hank. A fat white boy still is the Home Run king. Hank should try playing under the same conditions Ruth did.

Hank must be getting senile. The only man in Congress I know of who was an active member of the KKK was Democratic Senator Robert Byrd. Further, check out who most of the segregationists were... They mostly had a D by their name.

I don't deny that as a baseball player, Aaron lived through an extremely racist period in history, especially in the southern cities.
However, ever since he's retired, he's become extraordinarily bitter (like he was the only one) and never fails to blame whites - i.e. Republicans - for what he endured.
It was over 50 years ago Hank - it's over ... STFU ... and psssst ... those racist rednecks were Democrats! You could look it up.

Hank went through a lot pursuing Babe Ruth's record. There was plenty of hate mail from white Democrats all over the nation during the chase. He's decided to project that all those Democrat hate letters were really Republican. That was back in 1974. Hammerin' Hank has been carrying a grudge a long time.

Sorry, Hank, but the KKK was run by Democrats. Ask Imperial Wizard Robert Byrd who stayed a democrat his entire life.
And also, the Civil Rights and Voting acts were passed by Republicans with the kkk democrats objecting.
Get your facts straight

Too much white guilt for all the horrors heaped on their long dead ancestors. Uh, a little history would show africanAmericans that for the most part it was opposing tribal leaders that caught and sold most of their “brothers” in to slavery. Otherwise they’d be rotting in some squalid village in zimbabwe or somewhere on the “dark continent” as it used to be called. And probably called that due to the fact that so much of it wasn’t explored at the time. Of course they would contend it was called that because of all the black people there.

I didn't see where he said Republicans. He mentions whites.

Hank has been bitch’en about racial bias and his race (pun intended) to beat Ruth’s record for a long time, he’s just fine tuning it to conform to the current Progressive Obama Statements.
When he brought up the KKK did mention the 3300,0000 White Union military who died, and 260,000 disabled, who fought to free his forbearers from slavery. An ignored detail in the Progressive Black Community history books.

You may be right but I will still go with Ted Williams.
