The husband of the woman who was caught kissing Rep. Vance McAllister (R-La.) in a video that surfaced Monday says the congressman has destroyed his life and marriage.
“I’m just freaking devastated by the whole deal, man. I loved my wife so much. I cannot believe this. I cannot freaking believe it. I feel like I’m going to wake up here in a minute, and this is all going to be a bad nightmare,” Heath Peacock told CNN on Tuesday.
Peacock told CNN he wasn’t aware of what happened until his wife, Melissa Peacock, 33, called him a few hours before the news broke.
“He has wrecked my life,” Peacock said of McAllister on CNN. “We’re headed for divorce.”
The couple has been married for six years, and they have a 6-year-old son.
“It was just a kiss; that was all it was, but it embarrassed me and my family,” Peacock said. “This guy has turned my life upside down.”
His wife was seen kissing McAllister in surveillance footage that went viral on Monday. The Ouachita Citizen said it obtained the video clip from an anonymous source. It was recorded on Dec. 23, a month after McAllister was sworn into office.
Melissa Peacock was the congressman’s district scheduler, and was taken off payroll as of Monday night.
McAllister, meanwhile, says he doesn’t plan to resign and has asked God, his family and his constituents for forgiveness.
The congressman said he told his wife of 16 years about the encounter earlier this year, and they are working through it.
McAllister was elected to replace Rep. Rodney Alexander (R-La.) in a special election last fall. He ran ads touting his Christian faith, but Peacock told CNN he believed that was just a ploy for votes.
"I know his beliefs. When he ran one of his commercials, he said ‘I need your prayers,’ and I asked, ‘When did you get religious?’ He said, ‘When I needed votes,’ ” Peacock said. “He broke out the religious card, and he’s about the most nonreligious person I know.”
So she would willfully break up her marriage, which includes a 6 year old son, for money. How exactly would SHE stand to gain money?

Saw the vid...not all that bad but not innocent either. It was more than a friendly, good night kiss.

Under the law, this is sexual harrassment. And in a federal workplace. She can sue even though it was consentual.

I saw the original video a day or two ago. It is video of a row of security monitors, NOT the direct feed from the security cameras.
As to why he started recording before the kiss, I'm going to guess that there was some activity earlier that caused him to think that he might get something juicy if he recorded those monitors.
Bouncing back from being publicly cuckolded isn’t easy, and in this case it is a worse because it involves a news story that the white liberal mainstream media will gleefully cover.
I feel bad for the guy.

I think you’re right about the blood tests. It says they’ve been married six years and have a six year old child. I know if I was the husband all kinds of thoughts would be running through my head. And I’d bet she’s already told him the kiss was not the only thing they did together.

McAllister claims now that he’d already told his wife about it and does not plan to resign.
“I did not have osculations with that woman.”
I’m nothing near young, but I’m not dogmeat, and I’m the only woman working as a subcontractor on a crew of men-most are my age, some are younger, some are single, etc. If any of them were the salivating, knuckle dragging-never mind self-righteous-ass**** I see described here, I’d never go on a jobsite again...
It looks to me like McAllister and his staffer were dumb and careless-nothing nefarious, no setup, just dumb, horny frat boy behavior.
It may be that there’s some x-rated stuff on the tape but the person decided he didn’t want to show that to the world....YET!
The congressman jumped up immediately and admitted guilt. That tells me there’s more coming.

Here’s the raw video. You can see that it is a cellphone recording of the bank of security monitors. You can also see at 0:25 that his shirt is not tucked into his pants.
I’m going to guess that the guard saw them making out and undressing, then moving out of visual range of the camera, and then started his cell phone recording the monitors to see if he could get some video when they came back into view.
He ruined it, eh? Your dear, innocent wifey had nothing to do with it, I suppose.
