Of course, they also want the option to deactivate the gun at will - using such a system effectively disarms the People without actually confiscating the guns first.
If they try to institute it, you can also bet that there will be new laws that say that the weapon needs to be stored/locked in one place and the bracelet needs to be lock/stored in a separate location - maybe local cop shop.
Fortunately, there are enough weapons out there that they still have to deal with active confiscation in order to achieve their ends. If a liberal northeast State won't comply with registration, I believe that the rest of the Nation will double down on more illegal and un-Constitutional "laws".
