A date and cabin locations have finally been chosen.
This years shoot will be October 18th. Once again it will be held in Seagoville, (5 miles south of Route 175 or 3.5 miles NE of I-45 (exit 270) on S. Belt Line Road). The plan at this time is to meet at Cotton Gin in Crandle for breakfast at 9:00 a.m., BUT they are currently closed due to a fire. Hopefully they will be reopened by October. If not, Plan B will be put in place. After breakfast we will all head to the range. A delicious lunch will be provided at the range by our wonderful FRiend cpdiii.
The cabins where we are staying are Miller Creek Ranch in Canton, TX. There is a map of the place Here
A block of cabins have been reserved under the name TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot. To reserve your cabin, call 866-488-6020 or 903-567-6020 They are reserved for Thursday the 16th through Sunday the 19th. Please let them know if you will arrive Thursday or Friday night. A $125.00 deposit is due at the time you make your reservation, with the balance due when you check in.
The cut off date for making your reservation is May 28th! Make reservations after that date at the risk of not getting a cabin.
The cabin numbers reserved for us are 10, 22, 24, 25, 77, 88, 89, 90, 92 and 102. #s 22, 24, and 25 are called Executive Cabins with lofts, they are $185.00/night and sleep 4-6 people; #s 10, 88, 89, 90 and 102 are Standard Cabins with lofts, they are $165.00/night and sleep up to 4 people; # 92 is a Standard Cabin without a loft and # 77 is handicapped accessible, those are both $150.00/night and sleep up to four. All the lofts, with the exception of #22, are only three feet high and each have two twin mattresses; the loft in #22 is five feet tall. Each cabin has a queen size bed and a queen size sleeper sofa.
No cars are allowed at the cabins, with the exception of the handicapped cabin. You can either use their concierge service to get to and from the cabins or rent a golf cart for $40.00/day. If you want to rent a golf cart it was suggested that you reserve one when making your reservation.
Extra cost included are a $5.00 resort fee (they normally charge this per day, but are only charging us a one time fee); Internet fee is $5.00/day.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in October!
Thanks for the info. I am pretty freaked out about it quite frankly. We are dealing with a president and government that can’t even get a website functioning after all..lol. Also a prez that seems bent on this country’s destruction it would appear. He can’t manage anything and everything he touches turns to crap. Yeah..we are safe..lol. Yikes!
They controlled it in Atlanta.
Freaked me out that it’s so darn close to home for all of us!...or that they let it creep into our country. No telling how many people have been exposed to this one person.
But...I don’t want to be a fear-monger.
Atlanta patient’s movements into the country were controlled though from beginning to end. This infected person was in public exposing people for 4 days after he had symptoms. The CDC guy would not even tell the truth about his movements in those days or whether or not he was a citizen during his presser. It is all politics with this administration and media so that tells me all I need to know unfortunately.
Prayers and common sense protections are all we have now because our government is complicit and/or incompetent to do what needs to be done. Stop the flights from these countries..quarantine those exposed. They are refusing to do those things so it will get worse IMHO. One positive though is perhaps that Texans dealing with this on the ground are probably more competent than the Feds..lol.
I hear ya! Very disconcerting to say the least. That CDC dude gave me no confidence at all though. He was too worried about politics and PC garbage for my tastes. We will not get the truth from him or this administration...that much is certain.
Prayers Up!
Pen’s job is to make that world famous potato salad for lunch on Saturday.
I am going to make use of gunner’s nice sounding rig to warm up the beans on Saturday.
Count right now is about 26 people.
You are most welcome to join us.
What NYTexan said ~ your best bet is to join us for breakfast Saturday morning.
Thanks for the head count. That was what I needed! Getting excited! Let me know if you need anything else.
Winning the lottery would be nice. LOL
I, too, am starting to get excited.
That would be fun. At least while the money lasted..and before the government took most of it. See? Aren’t I a positive person these days?!! LOL.. Just call me Debbie Downer. I am working hard to snap out of it. I promise...lol.
You have to look on the bright side Debbie. If you win one million and the government takes half ~ you still have $500,000 to spent smartly or to blow it on whatever.
See...I need to hang out with you more! LOL!! A positive thinker!
Bryan and I have cancelled our reservations at the cabins and the hotels where we had planned on staying, going and returning.
Because of our stupid insurance company, I will not be able to get my tumor treated in time to heal up for the trip.
We will do all we can to make it next year, but it is completely impossible this year.
Sorry.
I have some trinkets and doodads for gifts and so on, and I will ship them to humblegunner to take to the shoot for y’all.
I didn’t make soap this year, but I will next year, God willing I’m still around.
Well this just sucks.
Bad.
I has a sad.
Oh, no! We will miss you so much but know you must take care of you first. We will just plan on you coming next year, because you are going to be fine. (((Hugs)))
Me too, Sensei.
I also has a pissed off at my insurance company.
Yes. We have all been waiting a year for this. Dang, I’m going to miss you
people. But you’re right Luvvie. I’ll be there next year, God willing.
And I will come bearing soap!
We will sure miss seeing you guys!! Will be praying for your health and healing sweet lady!
I’m sure we’ll really need it by then! Heehee!
