Jeb’s Gibberish: Any limit on immigration is an act of hate
NRO ^ | Mark Krikorian

You’d think that someone who put his name on a book about immigration would at least know a little bit about it. I’m afraid that may not be the case, if Jeb Bush’s recent comments on illegal immigration are any indication.

His “act of love” comment is what’s gotten everyone’s attention, and I agree with Ramesh’s take on the Corner to the extent that there’s some truth to what Jeb said:

How did we ever end up with big time political hacks whose chief allegiance is to lawbreaking foreign nationals?

Because the Chamber of Commerce wants cheap labor, and people generally do what their bosses tell them to do.

[Art.] And so, Jeb Bush’s immigration policy in a single sentence: Any limit on immigration is an act of hate.

GO FOR THE BUSH HAT TRICK IN 2016!!!
< /GOP wing of FR >

This is all about cheap labor, Jeb Bush -- hell, the whole family -- is/are a cynic(s) about this issue, they're totally committed because they know their money will keep them high and dry, well above the flood surge of practical consequences. They will not share the consequences of what they do.

Rich guy's contempt for ordinary people, deluxe edition -- typical Yankeeism.

I'm sorry to see Dubya taking this line, too -- he's from Texas, he knows better, and Laura knows better than that again -- she's a teacher, she knows why the statistics on the Texas education system are so bad, it's because of floods of illegals crashing the borders and putting their kids in school to be educated cost-free.

They all know better than this, and yet here is Jeb, cynically plowing the Chamber of Commerce, open-borders line.

The Wall Street Journal, 15 years ago, pounded the table about immigration in an editorial in which Their Highnesses demanded that the U.S. Constitution be amended to read, "There shall be open borders."

They backed off that crapola after 9/11 ..... but never stopped pushing the policy. Americans living hand-to-mouth is their Nirvana, their low-labor-cost paradise, and they demand it on their own sayso, from their own power, right, and perquisites as wealthy men.

Lord Acton once said, "Power corrupts." So does having too much money. You start to think you're special ..... and other people, contrariwise, fungibly and biddably unspecial. That's the GOP-E's bosses for you.

“Because the Chamber of Commerce wants cheap labor, and people generally do what their bosses tell them to do. “

Boy I guess. It sure isn’t because these political sleazeballs are protecting the country, defending the laws, or doing anything remotely honorable.

I don’t think anyone here has a problem with immigration, as long as it’s done legally.

.......I think this confirms that Jeb is not running for President because I cannot think of a statement he could make that would turn the conservative base against in higher numbers than this.

Also, this “act of love” nonsense can go a thousand different directions. It’s an “act of love” for a father to hold up a 7 Eleven to feed his kids. It’s an act of love to steal money or property to feed your kids. It’s endless.

He wants to ban immigration from being discussed. Like Lindsay Graham.

Mexicans already had jobs and food.

They say three times is a charm but after Bush 1 and Bush 2, heaven help us if there ever is a Bush 3, and that includes the mini Bush who is running for some statewide office in TX.

*************

I think we got the pick of the litter in Bush 2. I read him as a tortured soul torn between doing what was right and doing what was expected of him.

As a president, he was weighed in the balances and found wanting. Sincere but inadequate. I like it that he is now painting with passion, whatever one thinks of the subject material or execution. There is a real person there trying to get out. I hope he succeeds.

Having seen more of the family than even Kennedys, I will never, ever, support the ascent of another one of them to public office.

W was the best, and was not good enough.

When nation are privileged by an international body like the EU or UN to privilege themselves over other nations, instead of respect of rights, then we have wars.

Globalists like Jeb will be eventually be put on trial for inciting war and murder.

Except for that little thing where he let Terri Schiavo DIE!

Bush actually did pretty much everything he could to interceed, but the courts and her husband were determined to put her to death and they did.

It’s sad becuse if she were a criminal he could have granted a stay of execution.

At any rate, we need a Reagan not a Bush in 2016

One thing, not mentioned, are the number of wealthy, and/or criminal elements coming into this country to have ‘anchor babies’, thus US citizens.

I read an article from Fox News last year (I believe) that talked about the wife of a cartel member (or head?) who came to SanDiego to have her babies.

So, Jeb’s sob story doesn’t pan out all that much. And exactly how much of the American money the illegals make goes to the Mexican govt? I think ‘they’ profit more than the illegals.
