IMDB shows 1 film in current production and 2 in pre-production for 2014.
Not many stars are that active these days.

One more gone from the all-star cast of Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Can’t be many left now. R.I.P. Mickey.

Well yeah he does, except for the fact that between the two Walter is a nice guy.

I recently watched National Velvet. Excellent job acting by Mickey R. and Elizabeth Taylor. Also, watched Black Stallion, and Mickey was really good in that. I remember watching Black Stallion for the first time and being surprised that Mickey Rooney was still alive back, then..... But I don’t follow Hollywood very much.

What a shame. The stories this man could tell. MGM, married EIGHT times (!), including to Ava Gardner; working with Judy Garland, Lionel Barrymore, Elizabeth Taylor, Spencer Tracy, Audrey Hepburn, Clark Gable ...

Mickey Rooney and Shirley Temple were regulars in my early days. They will both be missed as American icons. I will never forget his role in “Boy’s Town” with Spencer Tracy.

“He was married - for a time - to Ava Gardner - felt by many to be the most beautiful woman ever. For that alone, I salute Mr. Rooney!”
Ava Gardner.....WOW!
Getting that is one thing but losing it.....
RIP Mr. Rooney

Just looked it up. Thought Dorothy Provine might still be alive but no. They’re all gone.
To: mowowie
Ava left him because he was cheating on her.

My father’s father’s father lived from 1834-1917. I am in my forties. My dad watched Mickey Rooney movies, I am sure (there were so many of them). I seem to remember talking to him about his movies. Sid Caesar may have had a bigger impact, I suppose, being one of the early TV stars.
