He also wasn’t carpetbagging in another district when he beat Booker in that district. Lonegan made a pledge in his Senate race that it would be his “last” campaign if he didn’t win, then broke it a few months later and ran in an area of the state he’s not from when an open seat became available. The Dem will no doubt slam him for that, and it will be an issue in a tossup district.
Alex Sink just managed to lose a tossup congressional district she had won as an unsuccessful statewide candidate in earlier election. Her supporters no doubt had the same confidence that Lonegan’s fan club has.
Oh well, just remember, you were warned...
(Now who wants to take bets on how soon Oberweis and Lonegan’s undying fanclubs will launch efforts to “draft” them again in 2016?)
The second Tuesday in June is primary day, otherwise it is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Since the Second Tuesday in June is going to be the official voting day in the Republic, we want the vote to create the Republic on that day.
4 years from now???
This is almost like the VP coming in to do a PC, and if the words got out to the VC, we might all end up doing KP...
“Goooooooooooooooddddddd Mornin’ Maaaaaaaaaiiiiinnnnneeee!!!”
;-)
Good luck Maine...I hope the momentum lasts till then...A lot can happen in 4 years...
RINOs support RINOs. It is just that simple.
Imagine if Oberweis ran for IL-12, that’s what this is like.
Unfortunately, MacArthur is also a carpetbagger from north Jersey, just like Lonegan. Personally, I don’t give a damn about carpetbagging but lots of voters do.
I don’t know WTF is wrong with NJ Republicans, an egomaniac from North Jersey decides to run for this district simply because it’s open, and the person they choose to unite behind to run against him is also a former Mayor from north Jersey? That totally undermines a possibly effective issue to use against Lonegan. There wasn’t a single local Republican up to the job?
Anyway, reason for this ping, the new financial reports came out last week.

Stevie seems to have spent all this dough (leftovers from the Senate race?), he has less cash on hand than the rat now. MacArthur raised almost nothing (says he was too busy winning the local party support) but loaned himself 2 million of his own money and now has the most cash by far. I didn’t realize he was rich and willing to self-fund, maybe that’s why they picked him.
