While being interviewed by Late Night host Seth Meyers, NBC analyst Bob Costas bet athletes cannot be trusted with guns.
Let's make a bet, you and me. Let's say over the next five years we'll do a Google search. We'll have an independent party monitor it. You keep track of how many good and constructive things are associated with athletes having a gun, and I'll keep track of all the tragedies and criminality and folly. And let's see who comes out ahead or behind as the case may be.

As I commented yesterday when this was posted, the first flawed argument is that they would use “google” for search results to shore up each side.

I’d wager Adrian Peterson has more illigitimate children in the last 10 years than Minnesota has people with permits to carry who have committed murder/manslaughter in the last 10 years.

I love my mute button. I don’t watch football per se but when I do it is in silence.

I wonder if Bob Costas, sport expert has ever heard of;
Ted Williams or Rocky Bleier or Pat Tillman. Just to name the first three that came to mind, even knowing there are probably a million others.

To begin with what he wants to do is compare apples with oranges. The correct comparison would be what percentage of pro athletes use a firearm in an illegal situation that brings about a criminal conviction over the next five years.

This was posted yesterday. The general consensus was it’s a sucker’s bet...the press *always* concentrates on negative news, whether it’s about guns or cars, so it’s certain in five years there will be a *lot* more “negative stories” than “positive stories.”

It was an incredibly racist statement.
You take the few remaining white players on any NFL team and you can bet they are bird hunters, deer hunters, target shooters and so on almost to a man.
Costas wants to disarm black athletes? Good and fine. Let him take it up with them. What does the precious little candy-ass think he will do? Interview them into surrender?

He can’t be trusted to drive without being DRUNK!!!
I bet he gets busted at least once more for drunk driving in the next 5 years.

What an assine remark. Is he going to count as a “Good Thing” all the days players owned a weapon and didn’t harm anyone? He is a pluperfect A$$!

Bob's TRIPPING...
drugs? Perhaps but hes tripping nonetheless.
It could be that he's "simply" been afflicted by an overdose of ARROGANCE, Conceit..and the always present side effects of such disease....
One wishes that such people would RUN OFF..before running off at the mouth.
