If you scroll through the various Schubert settings in this thread that involve hills and mountains, most are in major keys.

In addition to Schubert and Mussorgsky, I found mountainous material by Alan Hovhaness and Charles Ives. There’s a lot of good classical material out there.

I liked that version, too. Sounds like Johnny Cash a bit.
When about 11 or so I met a Hobo named J.E. Porterfield.....some how he knew my grandparents or something.
He travelled all over the country and was missing some toes they said from frost bite. He also used to pick cotton for liquor money. He cleaned up pretty good as I recall.
I guess he made an impression since I still recall his name 50+ years later.
