Rand Paul says Republicans cannot be ‘party of deportation’
Daily Caller ^ | 4-1-14 | Alex Pappas

WASHINGTON — Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said Tuesday that Republicans need to show Hispanic voters that they are not “just the party of deportation.”

During a symposium at the Newseum on conservative engagement with Hispanic media outlets, Paul also said Republicans have plenty of ideas that appeal to Latinos, but acknowledged, “We got to get beyond deportation to get to the rest of the issues.”

“The bottom line is that the Hispanic community, the Latino community, is not going to hear us until we get beyond that issue. They’re not going to care whether we go to the same church or have the same values or believe in the same kind of future of the country until we get beyond that. So showing up helps. But you got to show up and you got to say something and it’s has to be different than what we’ve been saying.”

I wonder if Rand is pushing for veep?

If Jeb emerges as the nominee, then Rand could be the GOPe’s fake gesture to the “right” as his veep choice.

Rand has a theory that if welfare benefits are cut off to the illegale crowd they will depart voluntarily. And that’s probably true. But the way he puts it is jarring.

Welfare cuts will never happen too many on both sides benefit directly from the welfare state, both corporate and personal welfare state...

Think of this....

The welfare voter pulls the lever for the dems and the grocery stores are owned by people who shovel money by the truckload to the GOPe.....

Welfare money is BEING FUNNELED back to the GOPe and the votes are being funnels back to the DONKS....

Welfare for the loser is also welfare for ADM and grocery store conglormates and other retailers....

Even retail stores benefit as the welfare peeps can spend more of their own money on trinkets and clothing since they don’t have to budget for their food anymore....

MARK MY WORDS: NOTHING SHORT OF A COMPLETE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE WILL STOP THIS GRAVY TRAIN.....

First, we are not just the party of deportation, duh. Second, we don’t want to deport any legal “voters”.

But illegal aliens? Please it’s the most ridiculous thing imaginable, yes deport them.

Rand Paul is auditioning to become Jeb Bush’s running mate.

Didn’t he say he opposed continuing welfare to the illegale crowd?

That is the eternal libertarian chant, "give me gay marriage, drugs, and open borders today, and I will gladly pay you with the end of welfare and social programs and liberal voters, on Tuesday".

Well, a return to sanity would curb it. Every $1 the gummit doles out requires considerably more than $1 to be taken in taxes. Even taxing “rich” hurts their ability to hire. The miser with a lifetime of survival funds in his mattress, eating cold oatmeal and adoring his gold, isn’t the typical rich person at all. The typical rich person spends!

Maybe he should stop bringing it up. Democrats have more to worry about now then Illegal Aliens stealing taxpayer’s dollars.

Maybe we should be the party of “Invade Mexico” and fix the country.

After all, Unfettered immigration is just another form of warfare.

I agree. We can’t be the party of deportation because it would require a small-scale military action on the homeland to logisticly and physically transport 12 million illegals across the physical border of the United States.

And we damn sure aren’t gonna tell them that they can stay. No amnesty, lawbreakers.

So we’re at an impass. We don’t want to be the party of amnesty and we can’t be the party of deportation without the power of the military.

Where does that leave us? With practical amnesty.

“Rand Paul says Republicans cannot be ‘party of deportation’”

Someone has to be.

ISTOOK: Obama’s deportation rate hits record low, not record high

I think he does, which is to stop welfare to illegales, but he isn’t very articulate about that.

It could be the party of starving out the illegales.

Republicans should NOT be the party of deportation.

The party of illegals should be the party of self-deportation.

Runt Paul is a moron liberaltarian. There is zero chance of welfare being cut off.

Libtardian theory doesn’t work in the real world because it is based on fantasy land BS where there are no freeloaders, and everyone works for a living.

well, at least that is an idea .. he should articulate it (instead of “smearing” the R party as a whole with a statement that only the D party central committee could have dreamed up)

This is saving welfare for Americans. Let private charities help foreigners all they want.
