I agree. We can’t be the party of deportation because it would require a small-scale military action on the homeland to logisticly and physically transport 12 million illegals across the physical border of the United States.

And we damn sure aren’t gonna tell them that they can stay. No amnesty, lawbreakers.

So we’re at an impass. We don’t want to be the party of amnesty and we can’t be the party of deportation without the power of the military.

Where does that leave us? With practical amnesty.

I still like the “self-deportation” angle. Remove the incentives for them to be here illegally (jobs, public benefits, healthcare, education), and they will remove themselves at their own expense.

President Eisenhower managed to do it.

But then he was a patriot and had a spine, unlike the “just give up” faction that you and Rand Paul belong to.
