Malaysian authorities have issued a new version of the last communication between air traffic control and the cockpit of the missing flight MH370.
The last words spoken were "Good night Malaysian three seven zero" - and not "all right, good night" as reported.
The transport ministry said forensic investigations would determine whether the pilot or co-pilot spoke the words.
The plane, carrying 239 people, was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing when it disappeared on 8 March.
The plane's last contact took place at 01:19 Malaysian time.
The BBC's transport correspondent Richard Westcott says the new version of the last words is more formal and more in keeping with the way a pilot might usually speak to air traffic control than the wording previously reported.
It is not clear why it has changed or why it has taken the authorities this long to determine this, he says.

“Hey, what’s a mountain goat doing on a cloud bank?”
It’s probably still sitting on the runway, with delayed or incomplete paperwork....

Actual words are:
Good night, Mrs. Calabash, wherever you
are!
Malaysia took issue with the word crash today, saying the official government statement on March 24, never said so. Words like Crash" or no survivors" had never been mentioned by Prime Minister Najib Razak (Pictured reading the statement on March 24) when announcing that the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean on March 24.
[snip]MH370 crash: Capt Zaharie's family and friends rubbish Daily Mail report
"Dr Mohammad Ghouse Noor, a close friend of Zaharie said that the tabloid was spreading lies and that their report was slanderous.
Dr Ghouse, moderator of the "Friends of Captain Zaharie MH370" Facebook page said he had spoken to a very close member of Zaharie's family, including Zaharie's son, who has strongly condemned the report.
"It's a total lie, where do they get this story from? ..."
"When contacted, Dr Ghouse said that the photos used in the tabloid were not of Capt Zaharie's family or his wife.
"There isn't a photo of his wife. It's actually Zaharie's niece's family and nothing to do with Faezah," he said.
I am beginning to think the plane was hijacked by CNN operatives.
I'm wondering where they found a big enough hanger to hide this plane. I'm betting on a triad of North Korea, Pakistan, and Iran as the ones behind this obduction.
Stop the presses...Malaysia lied about something.
Speculation. At least one of the countries knows where the plane is, and is managing information so that other countries don't find out more about the capabilities of the submarine detection system.
At this point, who the heck cares?
They’ve lost credibility and therefore sympathy.
Either they are incompetent or dishonest.
At stake for us is the safety record of the Boeing 777. We have no reason to believe equipment failure as cause. Not as long as competency and honesty are in question.
Today’s version. This whole thing is getting ridiculous.
They’re getting tired of goat.
Wreckage can be examined. No wreckage means no evidence.
Next the will announce that Fligtt 730 is missing, not 370!
I believe US intelligence and the NRO in particular know exactly where the plant went in but the information is highly classified due to its acquisition source and simply won't be released. The only time info like that might be released is if there potentially are lives to be saved but there are none.
Yes, Naval Intelligence.
Agree. They know, but they are not telling us because?
If it were anything ordinary, like a crash, they would not hide it. But hijacking, or flying to someplace like Somalia or Pakistan would be reasons to obfuscate. Also, if MH370 were shot down by Malaysia or China or they would not want us to know.
And so we wait.
