Atheist ‘Noah’ director brags film is least biblical Bible movie ever
The Washington Times ^ | Cheryl K. Chumley

Note to Christians and those who believe the Bible: The producer of the movie “Noah,” a self-professed atheist, says he is proud of the fact that he’s taken a story inspired by God’s word and turned it into something so secular.

Director Darren Aronofsky called his movie “the least biblical biblical film ever made,” The Telegraph reported. He also claimed his leading character, Noah, was the “first environmentalist,” something that suggests the movie storyline doesn’t exactly follow the Bible’s.

And something else the suggests a serious divergence from the biblical account: Not once during the movie is the name “God” spoken, an early reviewer found, The Telegraph reported.

Among the complaints is that the director paints Noah as more a man of the environment than a true follower of God.

“The insertion of the extremist environmental agenda is a problem,” said Jerry Johnson, the president of the National Religious Broadcasters group, in The Telegraph.

This is not a problem for the OP since I quit supporting the Hollywood crowd over a decade ago. Never again.

Why are people on FR getting upset about a movie they know is doctrinally wrong and they won’t support - from an industry they don’t support?

Nothing matters on the surface to more people than it should.

The constant bombardment of superficiality spins minds into indifference.

Our Culture doesn’t care.

Our media doesn’t care.

Out of time, and out of season are those that stop to reason.

All of these concepts exist. It’s just that very few people are willing to take the time to think. Both on the left and right. Both from the Darwinist to the Creationist.

The story of Noah is either real or it is false.

There is more evidence that points to it being real than false.

But, in our current culture, that’s not important right now.

What is important is an ability to kill a message by killing the messenger.

The feel good nature of shallow minds to be a part of the group.

Maybe because a projected $41 Million for something the producers say is “faithful to the Bible” - but is totally against the Bible - is way too much money to put into Atheists hands.

And all a person had to do was view the trailer to see this was a lie. Pretty simple. This whole thing just gins up more box office traffic and curiosity. The more people scream about it the more money the atheist makes. Worked for Madonna and Miley - why not this movie?

If I post that there is ARSENIC in a particular product that people eat ... is that going to make you go out and buy it? ... :-) ...

If so ... then maybe we need you out of the gene pool ... LOL ...

Aronofsky overstates the matter. He has created a mediocre movie based on the biblical texts. It is hardly "the least biblical film ever made." Mary Poppins is less biblical for that matter.

Actually, he said it was the —”least biblical ‘biblical film’ ever made”. Mary Poppins is not a biblical film.

I stand corrected. Thanks. Will consider further on the matter as I still believe he overstates the case.

Does The Last Temptation of Christ count as less biblical? I'll never know, because I don't care to watch either film.

The Captain of that Malaysia Airlines plane was an atheist too, past tense. Just saying that if I knew an atheist was going to be my Captain...I’d wait for the next flight.

I considered seeing it until I read about it on multiple threads. I’m glad to see a counter to the cheerleader I’ve seen on these threads posting cookie cutter raves about this POS.

No, I don’t think so. I thought it went overboard on some things ... but in Noah, about the only things they got that were Biblical were the words Noah, Ark, Flood and a few other names. That would be like saying something is a Christian because they know how to pronounce the words, Jesus, God, Bible, etc ... :-) ...

I would worry less about an Atheist than I would an Islamist!

An atheist believes when he dies, that it - there’s nothing else afterwards. An Islamist thinks he’s getting 72 virgins when he dies,

Who do you think is going to crash the plane first? ... :-) ...

Sorrowfully, in this case they may have gotten a twofer.

May I choose none of the above?
