Charlotte Catholic High School is getting backlash from students and parents after a school assembly last week.
Students said that a guest speaker discussed offensive material about divorce and homosexuality.
Sister Jane Dominic, with Aquinas College in Nashville, has a doctorate in sacred theology.
But her message about the influence divorce has on gender identification and homosexuality didn't go over so well....
In an online petition, which now has close to 1,800 signatures, one student wrote "we found some of (the) ideas expressed to be both offensive and unnecessarily derogatory. We are incensed that you knew the content of this speech and allowed these ideas to be expressed in a school that should be preaching a message of love and acceptance."
...In the meantime, a second petition has also been created in support of Sister Jane Dominic's message. That petition has approximately 200 signatures.

Indeed. The hive mind was disturbed.
One can get so tired of this. Catholic high school, which I attended, has rules and regulations that correspond with RC church teaching. The whining of America has reached fever pitch. Parents and students complaining about this presentation ought to man up. If you dont like the rules and the message, hit the road. You will not be missed.
The Nun apparently did not get the memo that good is now evil and lie is now truth. What an idiot...she went to a catholic school to espouse its values and look what happened...Fool! <Sarcasm off
Exactly. 95% are irrelevant interlopers, I'd wager. The same with the 4 states which "passed" same-sex "marriage" in 2012. Fraud was written all over it.
Why don’t these schools just expell the students. There are public schools nearby.
I don’t find a transcript but apparently this is a standard presentation that
has been given for the past few months at several venues.

Question.
Was she saying “Marriage is between a man and a woman, for life. No sex outside of marriage”, or the opposite?
I suspect the former. IF stating the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching on such matters at a CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL gets everyone upset, then may I suggest the parents and students look at the ELCA.
She seems to be speaking the truth as far as I can see. It seems those that are upset with her need to find a Leftist congregation.
Another Catholic school that has clearly been a total failure. Needs to be shut down and leveled.

True Grit.
I’m sure they deserve partial blame, but at least they brought in the sister. The people who deserve the lion’s share of the blame are the parents!
My thinking exactly. Nobody is forced to be a Catholic or a Baptist or a Mormon or any religion except Islam. If they don’t agree with the teachings they should go start their own. Lots of people have done it. There’s room for one more.
One of my favorites from Kipling. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve recommended that tale to.

Just sent the students to Public Schools, or allow them to find another private school.
“...school that should be preaching a message of love and acceptance.”
Really? How ‘bout Christ’s love and acceptance of the moneychangers? We are charged to love God’s children, but not to accept or condone or encourage their sinful behavior.
That student should find a new school.
How many urchins attend this school? Also, the Catholic Church is not a democracy, don’t like the rules, find a new place to play.
