At 63, Chuck Schumer can still dancefor awhile. But eventually, age or ambition caught up with the New York senator. On today's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough grilled Schumer over Harry Reid's accusation, uttered on the floor of the Senate, that the Koch brothers are "un-American."
For as long as he could, Schumer moonwalked away from Scarborough's question as to whether the Kochs are un-American. As one of Harry Reid's top lieutenantsand a lean and hungry senator who almost surely aspires to take Reid's leadership role when the opportunity arisesSchumer was on the spot. But Scarborough to his credit was relentless, and Schumer eventually wore down, making a distinction without a difference. Schumer asserted that the Kochs "actions" in running their run ads "absolutely" are "un-American."

I actually agree with Schumer, so long as we use present-day America as the model.
In present-day America, we are a socialist, fascist tyranny where your every communication is monitored, where you may no longer speak freely, where Federal agencies bring their entire power and force against enemy individuals and organizations, where redistribution of assets from those who earned it to those that hate the earners, where the government feels they may lie with impunity, where immorality is king, where prosecution of crimes is carefully selected to achieve political goals and intimidation, where being gay is valued more than being hetero, and where police are so aggressive and violent that they are to be strictly avoided at all costs.
See, THAT America, the Koch Brothers have no allegiance to.
“Schumer cant wait for Harry Reid to die so he can take over as leader. He will undoubtedly push Reid aside if and when the Republicans win the majority, but he will then be just the MINORITY Leader.”
It may be the 2014 elections are a setup for a Democrat landslide in 2016. The Dems may be content to allow the Republicans to gain the Senate in 2014. With control of both houses of Congress, the Republicans will then be positioned to be pounded by the Obama and the media for everything wrong in America. If the Republicans actually muster up enough backbone to pass legislation the president doesn’t like he will veto it with gusto. Essentially we’ll see more of the same we’ve endured the last 6 years with the Republicans caving, giving Obama everything he wants, and then being blamed when something Obama has done goes wrong.
By 2016 the White House propaganda machine and the media will have convinced the American people the Republicans are dangerous obstructionists whose goal is to line the pockets of the 1% while destroying minorities and women. Conservatives will be completely disgusted by the GOP minority caving and being slapped around by Obama. This sets the stage for Hillary to win the White House as the champion of women and assuming office with comfortable Democrat House and Senate majorities like Obama did in 2008. Hillary will come prepared with a leftist agenda to ram through Congress during her first two years - stringent gun control, destroy talk radio through reimposition of the fairness doctrine, control of “hate speech” on the internet, strict campaign finance rules that cut off corporate money to Republicans while allowing union money to flow, and possible single payer health care.
Unless the Republicans are prepared to assume control of both Houses of Congress in the 2014 elections, and aggressively reassert oversight of the bureaucracy and control of the budget, they will be toast in 2016. Somehow I don’t see a party led by John McCain, Karl Rove, the Bush family, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Eric Cantor doing anything but making noise and caving. They just have no stomach for a fight.
Why didn’t Joe follow-up and ask him: “What was specifically un-American?”
Which Republican was it, during the Clinton impeachment hearings, that referred to “real Americans,” sending the left into a total tizzy? “How can you say that, you racist dog?, etc.”
NOW apparently it’s A-OK to call men who’ve built up businesses employing (minimally) tens of thousands of Americans, but with whose political views Reid/Schumer disagree, “un-American.”
