Without having even seen an episode, CAIRs Los Angeles branch pressured the network to rethink the project. The activism of the Council on American-Islamic Relations has been well documented by many sources over the past several years. Whenever the group senses the slightest insult against the Islamic, it demands the offending party immediately cease whatever activity has been deemed inappropriate.
While Christians and Jews routinely face hateful attacks on their faith, they are expected to absorb such abuse based on Americas First Amendment protections. Most believers understand this; and, though the pejoratives might sting, they generally respect the constitutional right of free expression.
CAIR, on the other hand, has a long history of intimidation against those who dare portray Islam in a less-than-optimal light. The group has led protests against numerous television and film projects that include Muslim antagonists despite the fact that countless other scripts include villains of other faiths and elicit no such outrage.
The organizations latest target was an ABC Family show called Alice in Arabia.

There were several shows up for consideration, with titles such as "Mad Men of Moolah-Moolah-Land" a kids show called 'Suicide Super Squad", a show about a talking camel, called "Mr.Zed", "Burkah 911", women who test the limits of danger by daring to drive in any one of several Muslim/Arab cities in the Middle East.
The show they got cancelled was called "Alice in Arabia", probably fearing a plot where some five year old gets hitched up to an 85 tear old falafel stand purveyor and all the ensuing comedy imaginable. CAIR wanted a show about beheading Christians and Jews who control the world but neither side could get to agree on one great Muslim-themed family show.
Satan has thin skin - is this a surprise?
If Christians legitimately threatened to blow up the families of the executives for creating offensive anti-Christian shows, the networks would bow to us as well. They aren’t really known for their bravery, nor do I particularly blame them for not wanting their children killed over a TV show.
Im just simply ..shocked.
Im more that a little surprised that some imam or another hasnt yet issued a fatwa against ABC.
Its one thing to censor entertainment in shariah based nations . . .like the new movie “Noah”. It’s quite another to allow shariah censorship in the West.
Has it been translated from Arabic?
Guess this one will never hit the airwaves...

Gee, tough to choose which side to take here. One side is a network that wants to give Arabs and Muslims a voice on American TV”, the other is a bunch of anti-American thugs intent on making us all bow down to Sharia law.
How many degrees of difference in the “opponents”?
Didn’t kill Amish Mafia.
The camels nose inches further and further into the tent.
Christians aren’t taught to murder over insults. Muslims are.
A huge difference between Muslims and Christians, Jews also, is that Jews and Christians will get upset over a slight, maybe write some opinion pieces, or possibly boycott something. Muslims will kill people, and commit horrible atrocities to anyone offending their sensitive, pagan god.
Hollywood doesn’t want to press the issue, because it will expose the ridiculous nature of their cultural tolerance themes. It’s hard to sell Islam when everyone is reminded of how evil it is. And, like I said, Hollywood biggies don’t want demonic ragheads knocking on their doors with machetes.
The cult of Islam is practiced by a breed of un-civilized apes with a paper thin hold on sanity. No wonder they are so easily offended.
Care to provide an illustration of what you are referring to?
No mention of God in the Noah movie
So, I guess my idea about a nutty pedophile religious prophet who cuts off heads of those who refuse to follow him is out the window.
