Yeah, Jesus was never rigid. Oh wait...

"He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad." Matthew 12:30

I’ve always been challenged when attempting to reconcile that scripture with this one:

Luke 19:50
But Jesus said to him, “Do not hinder him; for he who is not against you is for you.”

Jesus never preached equality on earth and equality doesn't mean accepting sin.

This article is a bunch of lies from the father of lies.

“No man comes to the Father except by Me.”

So this writer is yet another false teacher, one of a million others who thinks he’s had some sort of revelation that rigid Christians need to “lighten up and get with the program”.
I believe He also said something about the truth being a very narrow path trod by few.

I think that the eye of the needle will be getting smaller and smaller as those exiting the teachings of Christ increase.

Seems to me that it’s the liberal “church of what’s happenin’ now” that is bleeding membership. The United Church of Christ, once a “mainstream” church, went socialist and has lost membership ever since.

On the other hand, those churches which follow a generally socially conservative message have grown significantly, and at the expense of the liberal churches.

The author is engaging in some serious wishful thinking.

“For a man shall leave his father and mother, and cleave unto his wife, and the two shall become as one flesh.”

The doper progressive who wrote this article predicts an exodus from “the more conservative churches, anyway”.

I observe the opposite: liberal permissive denominations that allow faggies to “marry” are hemorhaging traditional minded Christians who are joining Bible-based congregations. The latter are proliferating rapidly.

Christianity is being falsely ground away by interpreting ‘God is Love’ to mean ‘you can do no wrong’, ‘there is no sin’, ‘nothing can offend God’.

More emphasis should be placed on evil exists and God Forgives.

Jesus Christ taught the equal dignity of all persons, proclaimed that the meek shall inherit the earth, and declared that the last shall be first and the first shall be last.

Jesus Christ taught that to seek holiness through belief in Him is the first, last and complete duty of the Christian. And then 'go and sin no more' (John 8:11).

Odd how that doesn't seem to encompass the idea of homosexual 'marriage'.

Yes the two most growing religious denominations in the World are the ones that will disappear, not the COE or the other progressive churches in the Protestant arena that can’t pay their light bills.

Sure. Way too orthodox to stay relevant Sounds like Progressive Liberal hope and change to me.

And He [Jesus] answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and ethe two shall become one flesh’?

RE: Why churches should brace for a mass exodus of the faithful

So, why use the word ‘faithful’ ?

Meaningless babble.

Men and women are as they were created. There is nothing new under the sun.

We belong to a conservative protestant denomination (LCMS) No gay marriage, no abortion, no ordained females. We are doing fine. In fact my middle son has his interview today for admittance into our seminary. Truth will always win. Jesus
Christ has already won. Those that conform to the world will lose everything.

"A few weeks ago, I wrote about how the sweeping acceptance of gay marriage in recent years ..."

Sure, let's start out with a bold faced lie. What "sweeping acceptance?" Every State where it has been put to a vote it has been swatted down. Marriage is between one man and one woman. The fact that activist judges and/or legislative branches have overruled the will of the people does not equate to "sweeping acceptance". Sweeping repugnance for this lie as well as sweeping repugnance for our Government. Our Government "leaders" have shown themselves to be in league with Satan.

the churches whose membership is declining are the ones that have accepted homosexuality.

Oooh, that male-dominated dogma that I learned as a kid in the late 50s and early 60s! Oooh, ruined my life by giving me an ethical standard that has stood me in good stead for 50 years or so...with a lapse or two.

Of course - and all along I’ve been wondering why the mainline Protestant denominations have been doing so well, at the expense of all those rigid evangelical churches. /s

this insane author dares mention Catholicism and Mormonism in the same breath as if they were anything close to equal. Mormonism is a sick cult.

Just reading the headline, they are wrong.

The conservative Catholic Church had an exodus in the 70s just after the misinterpretation of Vatican II. The groovy kumbaya faction has not experienced any real growth.

Now, the seminaries are filling with the devout (after THEY had been taken over by imposters), as are habit-clad, conservative convents.

World Youth Day, started by Blessed Pope John Paul II, .
experiences a visitation by a million youth at every meeting. That’s with the Pope. He’s a conservative Catholic, DUH, answerable, not to Obama, but to God and the Church Doctrine, biblically based.

The annual March for Life in January, each January, snowy rainy windy, nasty, sees a visitation by 400,000 young people, of all faiths, not Muslim, if that can be called a faith, there, not to drink and party, but to stand out in the weather to represent pro life forces.

Average age 22.

The exodus happened a long time ago. Conservative Catholics are solid.

I agree there may be a mass exodus, but of the “faithless.”
