Where were you? I was a sophomore at a little engineering college in Philadelphia where I supposedly majored in chemistry but actually majored in college radio. As music director, I managed to hear everything that was released, both good and bad. I was in ROTC, which put me outside the college social scene. The hippies, whom I ordinarily admired, were hogging all the sex, something for which Ive never forgiven them.
So what were you up to?
Cue the Rockumentary theme!
This band was Motowns Funk Brothers backed with pickup musicians from the Detroit Symphony.
Arthur Penns film Bonnie and Clyde had been one of the first films to graphically depict violence, and it made Warren Beatty a star. This song did not come from the film but was an attempt by a British artist to capitalize on the films success.

I guess it is an old idea. I know Xerxes bridged the Hellespont with a bridge of boats around 500 BC. He moved several hundred thousand troops over it according to Herodotus.
A FRIDAY night music ping.
Hope you all have a green, wet, warm spring.
ROFL!!!!
w00t...well it's about time! :)
So glad you've joined us this evening Cyrenian.
Well, it's green here....not so much on the rain but the mid 80's during the day & mid 50's at night. A lil slice o' heaven!
How about your neck of the woods?

Last week, I introduced you to the work of producer Larry Marks at A&M Records with Tandyn Almers Little Girl Lost and Found, recorded by the Garden Club. Marks was to become a success later with the Flying Burrito Brothers, Phil Ochs and others, but here he records and produces his own song. It was Judy Collins and Helen Reddy who brought it to the public, but Marks version is well produced even if he doesnt quite have the voice to carry it. It got some air play, but didnt score, which is a shame.
Hahahaha...ha! You’re a treasure Prof!
