OMG is a violation of the 3rd commandment, unless you’re implying Oh My Gosh.
God is always doing a 1000 things in every thing he does, and I for one will not place constraints on what he chooses to use to bring people to himself.
Who is to say how this might impact some young folks to think again about what it means to follow Christ.
Please see #22
Singing a pop song is satanic now? Interesting reaction.
As I tell my kids, I prefer “Oh my goodness”. I try to make it a habit, and I’m less likely to slide (not to mention that ‘Gosh’ is a slang variant or God).
WOW! Incredible! Formidable! Now THAT is singing! I don’t particularly like opera, but I could learn, listening to this little girl.
This explodes the myth that you have to be Fat to be a female opera singer.
On a side note, the blond judge Chantal, was Drop Dead Gorgeous! I’m in love!

“Who is to say how this might impact some young folks to think again about what it means to follow Christ.”
Exactly!, but not how you meant.
I just can’t picture Jesus performing on stage such as this woman did, can you?
Nonsense, “legalism”. I know God has many names, but OMG isn’t one of them.
Ever heard of YHWH? The Jews came up with this acronym specifically to NOT use the Lord’s name, in a (wrongheaded) belief that to use His name violated the 3rd commandment.
LOL!!
“I just cant picture Jesus performing on stage such as this woman did, can you?”
Not sure about that, but Jesus was very harsh on those who hindered others from coming to a saving relationship with him. And who are we to say that this woman isn’t achieving exactly that by speaking (singing) in a way the young in particular understand? She’s probably affected more people with her gift than all of us combined, sitting behind our keyboards.
Woe unto you scribes and Pharisees. And all that.
Anglicans and Lutherans too, I’m told.
Actually, I looked up the lyrics, and they're words of love and devotion that could appeal to the sort of young girl who emotes over Jesusy praise choruses. IN other words, mutatis mutandis it could be directed toward the Lord. So if it's not your cup of tea? De gustibus...
There’s a lot of things I can’t imagine Jesus doing, but that’s my limitation, not His.
Thank God for copy/paste.
It may be getting difficult to find posts to troll...
That A-Jax, man, he's definitely in love. Now let's see if Li'l Sis pulls him to working for the Lord!
The Morality of Music is defined as The recognized fact that music and song, apart from the words used, have the ability to arouse either noble or base feelings and emotions in the persons who hear a melody. The reason for this emotional influence seems to lie deeper than the familiar association of ideas with certain music or song. It involves something inherent in all musical rhythm to evoke a human response that is either morally elevating or degrading, depending partly on the listener but also on what is heard.
Music is not entirely a matter of taste. Right reason can tell one whether a given piece arouses noble or base feelings.
“Thank God for copy/paste.”
BTW, I learned to type in 1966, and have done a pad-load of it in the intervening 4.8 decades. I can type “hate, hate, hate...” that many times very rapidly and with little effort.
