“It was reported today pilot Capt. Zaharie Ahmad Shah had programmed a remote island in the middle of the Indian Ocean with a runway long enough to land a Boeing 777 into his home flight simulator.”

In light of the circumstances I find that bit of news interesting.

Last night we were told he had a number of islands programmed into the simulator. Could by just playing with the program or he could have been serious. Will have to check all of them out.

It does not surprise me. Any pilot that flys international routes over water would just for the hell of it see if he could land in an emergency on an unfamiliar airport. He might have been testing himself to see if he could put a 777 down on a 1,000 meter (little over 3,000’ runway)which would be an amazing feat. One he could land on but never take off from.

If you were playing, you would pick a challenge rather than say Paris

When you play, you play
